The irony is Andy, that given the way our recruitment and transfer dealing ability status currently seems to be, this is exactly how I expect it to pan out. Confidence around this sort of thing is plummeting fast for me unfortunately.

Takes me back to the Andy Carroll days

He's away, players hold almost all the power and they tend to get what they want

People can believe he's "injured" but that's just copium

Him leaving doesn't fill me with dead, obviously replacing him is almost impossible but it's the thought of him joining Liverpool that's sickening

I'd prefer us to accept less money for him to go abroad

But if I had to call it I'd say come 1st September he's going to be a Liverpool player

I hope it doesn't fill you with dead mate.

It's not worth your life... 😅

If he does up going, I don't think it'd be the end of the world. He's been fantastic for us but we always knew one of our big players would have to leave for us to push on. At least we'd hopefully get a minimum of £150m you'd imagine.

Obviously I'm still praying he'll stay and sign an upgraded deal but I'm trying to be realistic like most of us here.

We need some proper clarity from the higher ups asap.

Isak to Liverpool reduces our chances of winning anything, and increases theirs. That's all I'm bothered about

Player linked with transfer away

Player told they are going nowhere

Player has an "injury" to miss games

Clubs positions weakens

Player gets move

Oldest trick in the book, players been doing it for years

True enough. But we don't have to bend over unless we get a price which makes it worthwhile.

They have sold an academy player for £35m and have a lot of other players to sell too. They get Isak for £150m and Saudi gives them £50m for Nunez and Diaz goes for £60m, they can afford to do it sadly. We just have to accept we can’t compete with this sort of stuff right now

Diaz have to replaced. If he leaves I think them coming after Gordon is more likely.

The tale of us failing to capitalise on any upshoot of success is a tale as old as time.

5th placed finish in 2012 - Vurnon Anita

4th place finish in 2023 - Tonali (banned a few months into the season)
5th place finish in 2025 - Insipid dealings in the transfer market and star player on his way out of the door.

Hall was with Isak the other day outside of the main group according to the Geordie journos. Yet one is travelling and the other one isn't going

I mean they are at completely different ends of injury scale. Hall had surgery, and building up fitness. Isak hasn’t had surgery and going backwards in his fitness.

Liverpool could easily afford him if they still want him I don't know why people are even mentioning PSR - Nunez and Elliott would probably bring in £100M - I'm sure they'll find someone else to sell on too

Selling multiple players to just bring in one player doesn't make sense, esp when they are already down Jota.

I can live with selling him if it's for a good fee and it's abroad. If we sell him to Liverpool then everyone involved with it at the club wants shot with shit, it would be an absolutely pathetic move.

I can just about stomach those in our fanbase who go on about 'the food chain', but for it to be the attitude of those inside the club when our stated aim is to be number 1 is totally unacceptable.

I would ignore the stated aim tbh, we don't act like a club with the aim of being number 1.
