Take your pick: player trading (more situations like Kelly, or even just how Villa have done it), selling assets to ourselves, going for loopholes, taking the points hit, going litigious, and probably more.

If Isak goes abroad I'd actually give the club some credit, it could revolutionise everything. If we sell him to Liverpool it's an absolute joke.

I'm not convinced by any of that tbh, certainly not taking a points hit, that would've totally knackered our season last year. We've traded reasonably well with what we've got to trade imo; the fees recouped for Kelly, Longstaff and even Miggy have been very good considering their status in our squad, and I was entirely in favour of the (relatively) huge Minteh sale.

It looks like there are commercial opportunities being passed-up for reasons I can't fathom, but nothing should take us away from the fact that there's a set of rules in place that are incredibly effective at benefiting the interests of cartel clubs. I find it a shame that people go straight in on the club when there's this blatant unfairness having the greatest impact of all.

This bed wetter patter is shite. If you aren’t even slightly worried after everything so far this summer you don’t care enough

Not worried at all, its only football. Pissed off though.

Yeah you can but as Ki mentioned we've done as little as possible to challenge it which begs the question are we content to just play nicely?

If so, enjoy the glass ceiling folks. And to put on my tcd hat I've been warning about this since Everton got that points deduction.

I actually like Nunez and think he might come good somewhere. But obviously not comparable to Isak right now.

Him been part of the deal means we'd not be a striker down when we deal with other clubs, puts us in a position of strength.

its fucking shit now squad and Howe off to Asia, I bet Howe now would continue to work on transfers rather than pre season trainings but that also needs doing as season coming quick and based on the Celtic game there is work to do to get us up to speed.

its shit how he was left on his own doing 2/3 peoples job due to Mitchell being completely useless to us. I would hope all Mitchells salary in last 3 months are given to Eddie.

other managers get incredible help from higher up DoF, negotiators, CEOs involved directly, someone like Pep Guardiola had Txiki and Hugo Viana in tandem thinking about their rebuild since January. Howe had Mitchell doing nothing and waiting to quit clearly. I bet he made himsef look busy in his office with "do not disturb" put on his Teams lol while watching porn or playing on playstation.

Based on how they operate elsewhere, I really can't see Liverpool's owners allowing a move for Isak right now. With the money they spent on Wirtz (and their renewals), I think it was Ekitike or Isak.

Also does anyone really think Isak would go 'on strike'? Doesn't really feel like something he would do.

If it wasn't for PSR we could offer Isak 300k a week to stay. Do you think he would still want to move?

No idea but it doesn't change my point

We've only made 1 signing after having lost 4 players, as we enter a season where we needed to be on it due to the extra CL games

Nunez and Osula would be the most chaotic frontline seen in the PL for a while TBH, I don't hate it

If it wasn't for PSR we would be able to compete for the likes of Mbeumo, Delap or Pedro because we could compete financially and not have to worry about where it leaves us, absolutely is PSR doing its job to prevent us competing.

I still don’t think he leaves this year but how committed he will be for 25/26 will be in question.

Clearly agitated for a move or a payrise. Not sure I can blame him for asking for more money, but didn’t think he had it in him to agitate for a move. If he’s essentially on strike then we should donate his wages to the foundation, it’s never sat right with me footballers doing that.

Completely agree, doesn't ring true to me. I'm generally proved wrong when I try to be positive like, so who knows. Whatever is happening it's very regrettable.

This. It’s a simple numbers game. We’ve been here before with a high end CL campaign and a strained squad. This time it’s even smaller with older players, particularly in the back line.

A fourth successive failure of a window is not what a competitive club coughs up. It’s pretty damming, and demonstrates where we sit in the Saudis’ priority chain. So maddening and disappointing but this is Newcastle; every time we get in the same postcode as success it’s shat on from a great height at corporate level. Seems another rinse and repeat.

Again, we lost out on a lot of signings because we aren't able to compete with super clubs due to PSR. If players new they were joining the next Man City they would jump at it IMO.

Doubt.

Dont see any reason for doubt here.

They will sell circa 200m this summer

They have the injection due to jota tragedy

They have spend fuck all in the last 3 windows

They would have the scope to go well above 300m net if they want this summer. The bigger question is that right or wrong? PSR bullshit IMHO

To round off a complete shambles of a summer i bet he leaves in the last few days of the window so we've got no time to replace him either.

Proper amateur stuff from us this summer. Again

They can afford it like just push next year's spending forward to get it done. I mean he might not be available next year.

Was just thinking I’ve not been this paranoid and confused since 1997 when I sank a 3 litre creamer bucket then went to my nana’s and we watched the final episode of The Brittas Empire together

I get that and I'm not denying that but the club are aware that's the situation

And they need to come up with a solution, whether that is to pivot to a different set of targets, go back to the signings we made post takeover, which granted are riskier but give me a riskier signing than no signing
