Fucking 4D chess from Liverpool.

Liverpool "We'll bid £120m for Isak but only if you say you'll sell him."

Us: "He's not for sale."

Liverpool "alright, if you don't say that you'll sell him we'll toy with trying to buy both him and his potential replacement if you were to sell him, so you'd be properly fucked, if you say you will sell him and then we put in an offer and you sell him.

Us: "He's not for sale."

Just buy Ekitike, or another striker to accompany Isak this season.

Short of an absolutely over the top offer for isak, I'm still convinced he's hear come September.

It's completely up to the club where it goes after that, we're now at the point where it's 'put their money where their mouth is' and strengthen the squad so we can compete/challenge, or start sliding backwards by losing key players.

Pretty sure that entire narrative has come from the initial Romano tweet where he said "Liverpool can now move for Ekitike" as a result of the bid being rejected. Not even a committal sentence, everyone else seems to have ran with it.

A lot of rage-baiting in the past 24 hours is due to the fact that Ekitike is still in play. The sooner we land him, the sooner the absolutely stupid and illogical narrative of "If you don't agree to sell us Isak, we will move on Ekitike....or maybe BOTH!" will dissipate. The news will go back to being "Liverpool bids for Isak", which isn't as cloak-and-dagger with childish implied flexes and threats.

If all we end up doing is driving up the Ekitike price to something stupid that Liverpool end up paying, it's still a win. As I'm guessing he's not the only striker in the world we're looking at, we can just move to the next in line for comparative peanuts and win the PSR battle.

I'm not sure how we can come out of this situation in any way except positively.

Unless Isak leaves, we dont sign Ekitike and DCL starts for us next season

"Gary, Gary. Why shouldn't Liverpool be allowed to spend £500m in one window"

"Jamie, how is it fair on the rest of the league. The likes of Newcastle, Villa all following the so called rules to make things fair yet can't spend"

"So its fair Newcastle can go spend £90m on Elanga but Liverpool only got £6m for Trent"

Don’t they have scouts?

They do but they also have form for hacking other teams databases. Im sure they had to pay city compo not long ago. Media didn’t make a big deal of it, as it’s Liverpool.

"Let us buy Isak or we'll buy the next best thing"

Or do you really think they'd pay upwards of 70mill on a player just because we want him ? And it also looks like they possibly arent in for him anyway.

Reminds me of that Blackburn Man United carry on when Blackburn had the audacity to sign Sutton over Man United, so Man United tried to unsettle and snatch David May and Blackburn threw in a petty bid for Cantona. But you'd never see a classy club like Liverpool whose fans abhor such behaviour stoop to the shenanigans of Ferguson's Man United and a lotto club.

Hopefully this stuff about Isak and Liverpool is more here say and blown out of proportion in press given that Richard Hughes played and worked with Eddie for nearly 12 years and has been said they have a great relationship. Would be a cunts trick if they are acting like this to try and force Isak to make a decision.
