Awful weather to train in today mind.

Can see why so many players are reluctant to join us when we keep players against their will and force them to train in all weather conditions.

(iirc Liverpool is the driest place on earth, hence why the locals produce so much extra hockle to keep hydrated)

Brutal. Imagine reporting to training the next day after a 15 hour flight.

Fully flat comfortable beds, all the movies you could ever watch, smart phones, music, exquisite food and drink.

Oh aye, how do they cope😂

Not sure on the reliability but I’ve heard Isak to Liverpool is pretty much done, all that is delaying is the replacement player. Seems likely as we have seemingly been pushing hard on one or two last few days. Time will tell whether or not Isak trains this in next few days.

Unless you’ve got personal contacts with Isak, PIF and Liverpool’s board then you’re no wiser than the rest of this one unfortunately.  It might well be the case; but your contact couldn’t know without having a foot in all three camps

Very doubtful Liverpool can/are willing to pay what we want for him.

According to various financial experts I've read talking about this, they absolutely can, especially with the impending sale of DN. Let's face it, we all know the red cartel can find the money if and when they really need to.

The question is whether they're willing to go as high as our asking price, not whether they're able to IMO.

LOVE this from Eddie . . .

“You have to earn the right to train with us.

“We are Newcastle United.

“The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team, to be part of a squad.

“You have to act in the right way.

“So that is also at play here.

“We will make sure that any player does that, to earn the right to train with the rest of the group.

“No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal.

“Of course I’d like him to be at training but whether he will, I don’t know at this moment in time.

“We have been here (in South Korea) with the time difference, preparing for training and for games.

“Other people have been dealing with that situation back at home.”

Gauntlet essentially sent down not just from Eddie, but from likes of Bruno / Trippier / Gordon etc. As much as they're Eddies words, he will be echoing the players thoughts with "The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team, to be part of a squad (and) No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal."

Ball is firmly in Isak court now. He can accept he's gone about things wrong way, come back and prove a point to his fellow pros and if the £150m+ bid comes, could still leave on more amicable terms (to Eddie and the players), or he can kick up a fuss and he's an isolated figure with no gurantee that a move will happen.

Is it today Isak should be returning to training or tmoro? Can't see the players who were on the tour training today after a long haul flight back yesterday.

Even if he kicks up a fuss he will come back to the fold in September if no move is secured.

I'd actually respect him more if he didn't, but once the window closes and its a choice of playing nice or not getting paid, they always choose the former.

My initial reaction when I saw Eddie's words was to be a bit worried and to nurture the hope of something more conciliatory. On further reflection, I think he's got it right yet again. Isak can't expect to turn up as if nothing has happened. Some process of bridge-building has to take place to prevent a bad atmosphere developing. The rules and principles have to be the same for everyone. That's not just from a moral standpoint - it's with a view to future possible success as well.

The whole thing has become so mucky. I'm not even sure that's it in Liverpool's interests for the transfer to happen now in these sorts of circumstances.

Do we think we could kick on with a disgruntled player there by contract only?

Aye and that's what I can see happening as opposed to us getting a replacement in by the end of the month.

We should follow the example set by our superiors at Liverpool, after all my visits to RAWK over the years have taught me no one runs their club better.

That has worked out well for them over the years.  Suarez was ready to sue them the year he destroyed the Premier League.

My heart bleeds...imagine leaving Singapore on Sunday morning and be expected to the office on Monday without the benefit of a 9 figure annual salary.

These guy could literally work for two months and retire in more comfort than most of us put together. I know, short career and all that gubbins

I still don't think it's a sealed deal that he leaves this summer, yeah sure if we get Wissa and Sesko in then it opens the door but that still doesn't mean that the bin dippers can get him on the cheap, it just means the team is properly prepared to go into the new season.

After the way the player and Liverpool have acted we have to stand firm, make it the most difficult transfer for them possible, huge sums of money need to be involved and if Liverpool can't satiate that then they get nothing and Isak will have to swallow his pride and continue to play for us or sit it out and not disrupt our season.

Whatever happens we still hold all the cards and given the way the two parties have behaved publicly we cannot kowtow to any demands, we have to send a message to players, potential players and other clubs that we're not to be messed with and deals will be struck above board and to our liking, we won't be bullied. Personally I wouldn't sell to Liverpool at any price given their actions, next summer and to a team on the continent makes far more sense, financially, professionally and optically.

Watching this whole ordeal from the sidelines believe me isn’t amusing it’s far from that!

What it shows to me is just how difficult all this is for supporters and indeed re enforces my view just how arrogant players in general are!

We all tend to get too invested in a player. We want to believe when they thump the badge on their chest it is to show us they care and love the club  when the reality is it’s not just those  that play for other clubs that are mercenaries they all, save a very very small number ,are just that, mercenaries!

I fully understand those that want your club to play hardball but the cards are stacked sadly in the players favour. In effect you have to get rid and the sooner the better for you all so at least you can start to gain proper focus on the 25/6 season. His behaviour and absence will be dominating not just Howes thoughts it will be a the source of much chatter amongst all the players, the hierarchy  and support staff and that’s before you look at the supporters.

Sadly Liverpool seems to be the only club showing  interest. They may tinker around the edges re the sum they offer but on your behalf I can’t start to imagine what happens is he doesn’t get that move . Will he ever be accepted back into the fold ? Could he ever step back and apologise?

Its a mess that’s for sure and nothing of your doing

Apropos of nothing, do you feel a thing when Chelsea sign a player? You must be so desensitised to the notion of transfers at this point.

My problem is I don’t see Liverpool raising their bid by that much, they won’t go near £150m IMO. They’ll have too much ego to just meet our price and clearly want to be seen as a big club that can bully non-ESL clubs.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I meant. They should have to really stretch for this. Will 150m be enough?

Genuinely don't think it should be, I think £150m is a starting point that doesn't get the door slammed in your face only.

I don’t think that’s a problem, it means he’ll be staying.

I agree. And I doubt the Scousers are willing to pay that much.
