Tsunami
Fwiw, as of last night Bruno reckoned Isak isn’t going anywhere. No info on what’s been said, Isak’s reaction or awkwardness of conversations but this is from someone I know who spoke with Bruno yesterday and who has regular contact with Bruno. Might be Bruno playing a straight bat but there we go.

alexf
The only realistic option left for us I feel is to keep him now and try and still pick up a back up like Wissa. Our recruitment teams incompetence may actually work out better than if they had been more competent if the net result is we end up keeping Isak. If Isak's move to Liverpool falls through, every chance he'll shrug his shoulders and just get on with it for another season once the furore dies down. That's what usually happens in these scenarios. Give him a fit and healthy support and we'll get more out of Isak too. Edited August 5, 2025 by PauloGeordio

Works for other clubs strangely. Should we have worked on a replacement just incase he suddenly starts acting out? It seems like we were confident he would stay. Should we then also (prior to windows) work on replacements for all our other purples aswell, just in case they start acting like this? Or should we focus on the profiles that we think we are most likely going to need, unless something unexpected happens? Was more speaking in general to our transfer approach this summer. Can't seem to close deals for the ones we want, perhaps failed to do our homework on the right ones and who would be willing to join etc. I guess slack can be given for striker as they probably didn't anticipate needing to get a Isak replacement this summer, but they knew Wilson was leaving and didn't appear to have anyone lined up and ready to go early on. Have also failed to fill the other position holes that have been known for 18 months.

Given the info we allegedly have about Isak telling people this was his last season, even moreso, and no, failing to get Joao Pedro means the target was wrong, same Ekitike. Anyways, fair travels mate, have fun solely blaming Isak for our own ineptitude and the noose of PSR.

Agreed, players emotions get so overblown by fans. This is a business for them. These guys get paid ludicrous amounts to play a game with their friends. The idea that Isak will wake up raging every morning that hes a newcastle player is ridiculous. He'll get over it and get back to what hes done for the last 10 years of his life. JUICE690
We know Isak won’t jeopardise his career and play half arsed. We also know he probably wouldn’t hit the ground running. So getting Wissa in to help that transition (and keep Isak) would be my first choice. Edited August 5, 2025 by JUICE690
