At this point his only way out is actually going to Liverpool and the media happily forgetting it all, or there's a genuine insinuation that his agent is dodgy to the extent that Isak is basically Johnny Fontaine in the Godfather in all this.

His brand is becoming very toxic, very quickly. Even beyond NUFC

Who’s gong to pay Isak millions to put their corporate brand to his name when he’s mainly associated with a lack of respect and reneging on contracts

It’ll take a lot of time for that dust to settle

Cracking post, I dont think Nectar  will want him advertising their loyalty points scheme

Maybe I am being deluded but not one part of me thinks he is going to Liverpool now.  We would be mad to sell him when we have no replacement, and no chance of finding one this late in the window.  So I am surprised all the pundits seem to think come 1st September he'll be at Liverpool.

Quite the change in tone from this character. Not that I think he knows anything

Think that’s how it will go. We’ll get him for one more season. We’ll sell him on our terms for a price we dictate and hopefully abroad.

I’d love to keep him as backup to Wissa for the season, to be honest.

Give him 20 minutes at the end of each game to put himself in the shop window, let him start the cup games if it’s against weaker opposition.

That's my point to be fair - at some point this (admittedly slight) blacklash might harm his career income. Being a ruthless snake being boo-ed around every premier league ground won't help brand Isak. He's an easy target for every single away team chant. I think there is at least a bugrudged acceptance that Harry Kane/ even Suarez were world class players - Isak's career will be defined by being the ultimate turncoat, the pantomime villain.. Funny in some ways if I wasn't actual fan.

I'd put money on him getting a standing ovation at chicken town if he ends up at Liverpool

I think Liverpool will make a final move for him after we play them. Right now it’s still 50/50 to me.

I've convinced myself that Liverpool have no real intention to sign him.

They've promised £300k to him knowing a deal was never likely to happen and caused massive unrest to a rival.

Then submit a derisory bid they know will be rejected to say well we tried.

What makes people think this will hurt his career? If he moves to liverpool and scores a shit load of goals, no one cares but us. Anyone really think sky, talk sport / sports media in general will focus on his behaviour for more than a game or two into the season? No chance.

If we can get Wissa and somehow Isak switches back, we could be on for a helluva season like.

If we get wissa and Isak stays it could be the strongest squad we’ve had in my lifetime.

With the Brentford signing it should now free up Wissa for us. If he signs then we will really see how much balls this club has. They absolutely can't sell the snake before getting his replacement.

I’ve supported this club for all my life and will for the rest of it - he’s shit on it and I fucking hate him for it, sick of hearing about it now and he can fuck off for me.

It was all right there and he couldn't see it.

Still think we should point blank refuse to sell him to them lot no matter what. Keep him until someone abroad can afford him whether that’s January or next summer. Whether he plays or not.

Don't PSG now have a no dickheads rule? Still think most probable outcome is deal will be done once we've played them at St James'.

Doubt we'll get two strikers, so Wissa will be main man with Osula/Gordon as back ups.

It'll hurt his career if he stays and doesn't play as he won't be getting 300k a week next summer. Football is often about the moment

A player is only as good as he is at that time as players can fall off for reasons other than talent.
