If Mitchel really was the person to set this whole thing in motion why is Isak sticking two fingers up to the fans, Howe, everyone else?

Because he's a bellend who's looking to blame anyone else but himself and his agent for his twatful behaviour?

Not going to play Billy big ones in all this because there but for the grace of and all that but one thing that not too sure what the majority views are but what will be the case if Isak is still at yours come 1/9 and still is playing silly buggers and you haven’t got a replacement in what will be the options for you up front ?

The options aren't great until Isak puts his big boy pants back on after a few weeks sulking.

He struggled to get in front of Richard Edgehill and even Keegan used Richard Dunne as a RWB ahead of Charvet

Cos he’s had head well and truly turned by Liverpool and his agent. Still doesn’t excuse his behaviour.

Laurent Charvet scored a class goal for us away to Boro on the volley if you're interested.

He’s not going to sit out a full season, especially in a World Cup year. Before anything’s said, I’m fully aware he’s Sweden’s best player so will be going, but nobody wants to play in what could be their only World Cup having not played competitive football in a year.

IF he does hold out, then more fool him. It’s a very short career and who’s to say he will ever be the same footballer after missing a year? The chances are he wouldn’t be. He will play and if he wants a move (abroad) next year, he will have to play well.

I don't think it's much more complicated than him simply not being a great guy

The Staveley/Mitchell thing is just a convenient story that helps create a narrative against the club for Isak and his agent. He wants to move to Liverpool because they won the league and will pay him more, but doesn't have the balls to just say that

Because he wants a move. The whole promises broken shit is just noise to facilitate the end goal - his move to Liverpool. He’s an arsehole

I don't think it's on Staveley or Mitchell here. He's being an absolute prick.

Most of the fanbase wouldn't even begrudge it is the most maddening thing. Let us arrange a suitable replacement and leave with our blessing, just so simple the thick cunt.

As always when this hot take comes up, name a star player who actually kept this up past the transfer deadline?

They always come to heel for 6-12 months.

Even Tevez came back when it mattered and stayed for another full season afterwards.

Yep all there is too it. I’d respect him more if his statement was that he wanted to move to Liverpool. This Facebook mam routine has done nothing but made him look more pathetic.

I’ve gone through many stages of emotions during this entire Isak saga and think I’ve firmly landed on the fact that we must hold our position and show Isak and broader footballing world that this unprofessional behavior should never be rewarded. Happy to take a short term football hit on the pitch to continue to hammer that point. Football decisions like this should never be made upon the back drop of a PSR accounting, fuck that. Sell him for pounds less than the offer previously submitted.

The smallest time of thinking would do a deal with Liverpool to please the striker who has insulted us the fans and the everyone at the club who helped play a hand in his rise to the top of football. And yes, that’s also accepting some Liverpool player we never wanted anyway to fill the squad. Thats absolutley naff footballing decisions.

This has been the point all summer. Put the fucking money up.

These scoundrels are trying to buy "the best striker in the world" at a bargain. Fuck right off.

Liverpool trying to pay £110m for Isak and have it justified as being a "British record so should accept", would have been like Blackburn taking £10m from us or Man Utd for Shearer just because it was way above the £8.5m Collymore record fee.

The way they constantly refer to it as that is proper annoying like. The way some of their fans have adopted this sort of weird mafia-style way of thinking they're being respectful while being unbelievably arrogant and essentially saying we should just hand him over while making these weird thinly veiled threats is proper nauseating like.

Also as much as I care about our feelings as fans (sorry Wor Flags) I actually made peace that footballers will break our hearts at some point. My bigger issue is how his teammates and manager have had to disrupt their own pre season and potential season because this player felt he was too big for this. The likes Burn, Hall, Bruno, Fab, Miley, Tino, Tonali et al were all looking forward to a brilliant season where they also played as big of a part as Isak did and he’s forcing them to potentially not have a real go at it. He was here when Tonali went down for gambling and when we had a historic injury crisis, and yet his own personal ambition is to leave like this in this manner meant more than to just do it the right way like any other player under contract.

Cause he's gone and he needs someone else to blame.  He should also be focusing his anger at Liverpool who stole his replacement from us and then low balled with their offer.

  If it was Staveley and Mitchell, then who exactly has the relationship broken down with?
