The Luke Edwards message about Woltemade being the Wilson replacement, whether you believe it or not, is helpful.

Woltemade is not coming to be second choice striker, not now with World Cup coming. Nagelsmann made clear to him that he needs to play - not being Bayern’s second choice after Kane.

I’m glad Isak is going and hope we can use the money to strengthen our squad with two more players after Woltemade.

I think 150M is unrealistic, how about 130M + Nyoni, he has no chance in liverpool squad

They won't give us their psr profit player. A few loans and sub appearances and they sell him for 40 million to Fulham etc in 3/4 years

The messaging seemed to be saying that, i.e.  that he's obviously been given a clear path to being the new number 9, whether it's gradual this year or not.

So it's not that I disagree, I'm delighted with the news if we sign him and hope that is what happens, my point was more that what Edwards was saying is a counterpoint to all the media nonsense going the other way than whether it is true or not.

Too much of this is being played out in the press or social media, a lot of which is with questionable motives. So it's good to have something going back to contradict it.

Whether it's true or not? One lesson from this summer is that I'm not sure it matters if it even slightly strengthens the club's hand.

"We are ready"

I’m sorry but that is dumb as shit. Isak can’t blame us if they don’t bid again, the club have bent over backwards to accommodate this when they didn’t have to.

The phrasing tickled me.

He's such a fucking shill man.

He's done canny well out of all this. Would happily have any romano related tweets banned mind.

Anything posted by any Liverpool fan accounts should be auto deleted though.

Luke Edwards:

Sources have stressed that the signing of Nick Woltemade ends the search for Callum Wilson's replacement. Nothing has changed with Isak for now.

He did back track a bit after posting that

Simple as that. Liverpool are just sitting there being polite, not wanting to poke the hornets nest, waiting for Newcastle Utd to pick up the phone and call them to let them know that, "we are ready" to give them one the best strikers in Europe. Everything else such as the fee is irrelevant.

I don't either but I think it may happen. My preference would be to sign Wissa and make Isak sit out the year, selling him before June 30. However, if we try that and no one else bites to create a bidding war, Liverpool will low-ball us even more on June 30.

I think he loses out on loyalty bonus regardless if he is sold or not if he puts in a transfer request. So I can understand him not wanting to do it until we actually are ready to sell him.

Also, if/when this happens, we should have a sell-on clause put in the deal, for when he inevitably does this to them if Real or Barcelona come calling in a couple of years.

Seems the done thing these days in deals/Big deals.

Why are they still going with the narrative that we need to contact Liverpool first :D That has never been a thing in transfers.

If we bid for another striker today, that’s as good as us saying “let’s talk”, otherwise stance is the same and we need Liverpool to come to the play. Isak can’t be pissy at us, this is now all on Liverpool to make the play the reality is setting in that they need to pay £130m+ for a striker, where they’ve got one already who I bet is exceeding expectations and Slot is very impressed by in training.

«We are ready» ffs

How this is put out there is crazy.

I do hope and believe we just sit tight and if Liverpool don’t bid, tough luck.

I do not really care where he ends up now, as long as we get the fee we want. If not keep him.

I am honestly shocked how badly Isak and his team has handled this. Like fucking amateur hour.
