I don’t think it’s up for questioning that he is after Shearer our best ever PL-era striker.

But I think this season he is better than half of the seasons Shearer played for us.

Half? Did Shearer ever score 30 goals from open play in a season for us? That’s what Isak is on for.

I don’t think there’s a strong argument to be made that Shearer after his first season was ever this good. He just wasn’t.

Andy Cole in his 1st season was also amazing.

Not so much for me. Always seemed more of a result of what was round him. There's a reason why KK took Cole to watch Les play.

The days where we struggled to get him into games feel lightyears away. Insanely good tonight

Aye he’s coming deep. Linking up. Playing balls I’m behind for others. He’s even running hard for for 90 minutes.

He’s gone supersaiyan.

He was class man. 41 goals. Obviously soured now due to where he went but he was electric at the time.

Almost every part of his game has seemingly gone up a level to consider the first few games of this season he couldn't trap a ball. He's now dictating and linking up exceptionally. Him and Murph were telepathic for the second.

Maybe pushed himself too hard perhaps if he's got a tight hamstring. Hopefully it's nothing because physically this is the best he's been for some time and  it's no coincidence he's hitting his best form.

There's never been a doubt about his talent it's just his fitness record that's held him back since he got here.

It's why the eternal pessimist in me is just trying to enjoy this run while it lasts because he's broken down so many times in the past I always half expect it.

But if we can manage his fitness till the end of the season he's on for a hell of a campaign. He and Tonali actually give me a glimmer of hope we could turn over Liverpool if we reach the final. Without him, unfortunately we have to expect our form will drop off again.

He's not exactly Callum Wilson though is he? Had four stints out, one of which was a broken toe.

What gets my goat is there’s just this assumption by a lot of their fans and some in the media that he’ll go there in part because he “looks like Thierry Henry when he plays” ffs 😂 A lot of things have to happen for him to end up there and it could include sums of money which they couldn’t afford anyway with PSR.
