A few weeks ago when they went a goal up vs Chelsea, and seemingly had a second before Son's was ruled out, they were flying, looking like 29 points from 33, but suddenly lose that, lose Van de Ven and Maddison through injury, Romero and Udogie through suspension, lose their follow up match to Wolves, and pick up a few more injuries and suspensions in between. They have taken the lead in the last three matches and look like losing all 3 and going from outside title challengers and clear top 4 faves (especially with no Europe / League Cup) to all of a sudden being in a 3 or 4 way battle for 4th at best. You’ve just described “the Spurs way” or “things are going very Spursy”. Still think they’ll finish above us, mind.
Geordie Ahmed
Hope Spurs can grab an equaliser but Villa have dropped their defensive line a bit so Spurs will need to get creative

DahnSahf
It staggers me that characters paid millions to do this can be so persistently oblivious to the fact they're offside.

54
Feels wild that we could go above Spurs next week if we beat Man United and they lose to Man City, especially given the rhetoric behind both clubs.

Yorkie
Don't think Postecoglou could look less inspiring stood on the touchline there if he tried. Villa are really good. Think they've definitely got a shot at 4th.
jackyboy
Emery is like Arteta and doesn't seem to understand what the technical area is for. Must be an Arsenal thing
brummie
If we could manage to fix our away form with a bit more resilience, we’d be such a good side. Ramsey and Moreno back and match fit will be huge for us. Buendia also not too far off by all accounts.
Ronaldo
Villa a point off City. Emery is genuinely elite.
Gallowgate Toon
Great game for the neutral. Spurs looked better than expected considering they're missing Maddison, tbf. Huge period for Villa coming up. Some really tricky games, mixed in with random Euro travel too, over the next few weeks.

The Prophet
Much like ourselves, Villa look very impressive on their own patch, but haven't been as convincing on the road. First half they were wide open and should have been a couple down. The test for Emery will come when they hit a bad run of form. In previous gigs he's struggled to reverse a slump. They have Man City and Arsenal back to back in a few weeks both at home, given how impressive their home form is, they could be some cracking games. Interested to see how Villa do at home to the best teams as well , they have beaten us and Brighton in the winning run they are on but that's it, the rest of the wins have been games you would always expect them to win anyway .
