Really? Do you recall his last appointment at West Brom? He was brought in to do exactly the same and they were dreadful

I absolutely agree and hopefully the same will happen with Leeds. I just mean their players will definitely have a boost now that a new manager has come in. Hopefully they get absolutely twatted off Man City to bring morale down but I don't think the Leeds we face will be lower on morale than if Gracia stayed.

I still believe we'll be too much for them but that new manager bounce will give them a bit of extra life even if it is under the dinosaur that is Allardyce.

Hard disagree.

Nearly every time there's been 3 legit managers at a club, the 3rd everyone just down's tools. it's too many different ideas, players lose confidence in the project. It happened to us with Shearer, we went out with a whimper. It happened to Watford last season when they sacked Ranieri and brought in Hodgson - they just fell off. Chelsea with Lampard. Southampton with this lad.

It's such a terrible fit personnel wise. They still have Championship level defenders and a GK with zero confidence (playing anyone else might be a benefit though). Allardyce is going there for the cheque and to be back in the limelight. Miracle worker if they stay up (they're not actually in the bottom 3 anyway), a draw and a win might be enough to keep em up on GD. And it won't be his fault if they go down.

I'm not really talking about tactics or player profiles not fitting with them tbh, just think when a team has been performing as badly as Leeds recently, it's in our favour not to see anything change until after we play them. It's more pyschological than coaching ability.

Although most players would dread playing for Allardyce so there is a good chance that there won't be any positive reaction from the players. Especially if City can turn them over heavily.

We are now worried about Fat Sam taking over at Leeds? God I hope Liverpool drop some points in these two games before us otherwise it's going to be painful reading come Sunday [emoji38]

Some right Fanny's on here mind. As I've said the other day, if we can't oversee a 9 point lead with only 5 games remaining, 3 at home and 2 against teams in the bottom 5, then serious questions should be asked. Thankfully I have more faith in this team.

I'm gonna be in bits if we're ever going for the title or later rounds of CL. Genuinely find being good ridiculously stressful. Keep re-checking fixtures, odds, percentages, weighing up permutations. We're better than I can ever remember us being and yet I stress watch through games with my heart pounding along.

I think making the CL is a particularly huge deal for me this season because I think it's a way to skip forward so much of FFP restrictions. It can supercharge our progress. I think EL or ECL could actually hinder us - getting a load more games but without the additional revenue or pulling power.

This is exactly me. Never felt this stressed fighting relegation. It's because it's completely alien to us. My lass is beyond sick of me, I'm chewed to bits.

There's no denying that that lump going to Leeds makes next week a tad more difficult - yes I know they're awful but look at Everton in Dyche's first game (I know this will be Jabba's 2nd). They beat Arsenal. We definitely should have enough to beat them but it definitely makes it harder. Hopefully Man City stick 5 past them.

That being said we were a Lucas Moura clearance away from being home and hosed. I reckon internally, Howe and the players will be targeting 3rd.

Hoping it gets easier the more we're used to it.

Liverpool play twice before we play. Fulham is a write off, hopefully Brentford get something. If we lose on Sunday and they win both we will be under pressure vs Leeds.

Mind you it doesn’t help when @Optimistic Nutis arguing against my concerns/reasoning and I started to think I was overthinking things then he goes on a few mins later to predict Leicester we’re going to batter Everton 3-0 and it pans out they are hanging on desperately to scrape even a 2-2 draw with them ?

To me, this is nowhere near as stressful as the relegation seasons.

In those, you seemed to have a chance every week to get out of it and then we always cocked it up. It was just a never-ending feeling of sickness and disappointment.

I've enjoyed games so much this season, more than in years, with a team and a manager I'm totally behind.

We're basically guaranteed some form of European football next year which was beyond our dreams 12 months ago. And we've got a genuine better than good shot at Champions League. I'd easily rather be in our position than anyone outside the top 4.

Your lass is probably right. And you can explain that in your own way when we thrash Arsenal.

Over-estimated Leicester which just goes to show that 3 of the 7 points we need are pretty much in the bag there. ;)
