Totally agree he should be playing every game he can.

He did get sucked into the middle to allow the space for the cross but that's maybe harsh when no-one else had covered the run he went after inside. First impression was a little bit naive (it happened twice early on) but from then on he did much better

Great to see him performing well from RB - defensive positioning etc will need some work but a much needed option against weaker opposition given the injury situation.

By no means it wasn't ideal failing to close down the cross of course. Still, sorta irrelevant if you let them have a free header in the box with no midfielder/CB picking up Lukic. You can't stop every cross but you can defend them. 

 

Hopefully he's not tasked with RB again too soon but think he did decent.

Thought he was a bit iffy defending at times. But that’s to be expected. Also defended really well a lot of the time. 
 

His passing from there helped the same way as when Trippier plays there. Tucked into midfield the same as Trippier, too.

Seen Ginola give Albert better protection in that game against Everton than Murphy gave him on their goal.

I'm sure Southampton and Spurs both played Bale at LB with the idea of letting him get experience with the game in front of him. Can't see him at RB but a game or two like that could do him the world of good. Made him look forward instead of sideways for one thing and his reading off the ball seemed better for it.

Yeah he was in the centre circle when the ball went into his area for the cross, but given he looked like he had instructions to join midfield when we had the ball it's forgivable

I know I am very protective of him but their first goal was nothing to do with him. Murphy lost his player as he was too busy talking to someone else. Lewis followed the player he should have.

I thought it was poor man management putting him at right back against two rapid fulham players but this kid is a special talent to come out of it as man of the match, putting some of the more senior players to shame.

I'm full of shit, it was a minute or two before the goal that he was caught too far up and too far inside which allowed a cross. Keeper saved that one.

Incredible player and we knew this from the first moment he stepped on the pitch as a bairn. It's up to us to get the best out of him.

We had a centre forward who did a couple of seasons ago. Happy to agree that doesn’t count though.

Been one of our best performers the last few weeks or so. Really growing as a player. Don't like that we are having to shove him into right back cover but needs must and it Howe thinks he's the best one to play there then so be it.
