Thought today highlighted yet again how important Longstaff is to the midfield btw. Joelinton doesn't suit that role at all and doesn't understand the position well enough against quality midfielders, he needs to be out wide interchanging with Willock.

Can't say I was expecting to win today, so I'm not too bothered.

Started well first half, on another day we would have finished one or two of those chances and wouldn't have played into their game and ended up losing our heads.

The strides we have made are massive. But in the crunchers, mentally,we have come up short. The final, the Liverpool defeats, today Arsenal controlled it. Now it's that pressure siruation, the whole country is strapping in for an inplosion

Yeah, I can forgive bad performances and he's a great player, but he kept trying daft things under little pressure when there were easy options on. Just stupid

Yep, he’s normally decent but this had been laughable

These are the eye-opening matches where it starts to dawn on you that he's not decent. Carra is miles more knowledgeable than him

We miss Longstaff bigtime, had our chances to be 2 or 3 up before they scored a soft as fuck goal, one of those days where we just couldn't find the net couple with some sub par performances.

Tough game . Burn poor with the ball and Bruno tended to want a touch to many or try and turn again too much. Officials not great , we didn't get the luck and Arsenal managed the big moments well. We had a good go through and they had to be at their best to get the win the day . The days of teams coming up here and not having to work and battle for a result are thankfully well behind us. Need to switch on for what will be a dogged game against Leeds . Howay the lads !!

Arsenal aren’t anywhere near as good as we’ve made them look there. Poor performance. It happens.

Isak and Wilson together is never a plan A, mind. Baffling decision first time against that opposition.

We’ve had a great campaign and might still get 4th but if we’re looking to be critical, we had £45m to spend in January on a player to consolidate the phenomenal first half of the season and apparently we’ve spent it on a player behind Jacob effing Murphy in the pecking order. Leeds now a must win.

In the first half it was very even. Second half they shithoused and controlled the game very well.

not our day today, if a goal had gone in it would have given us momentum

That was a disaster today. I’m annoyed, not necessarily at losing but more how we fell for their time wasting and antics.

Any time we got some momentum they had an “injury” - by far the worst I’ve seen all season including some of our less sporting moments.

We had chances but were so wasteful.

Not going to name some underperformers but we had a few notable ones today.

This wasn’t a cruncher though, it was an incredibly hard game against the second best team. Which we hopefully don’t need to win.

If we needed to win every game to finish 4th, it was never happening.

Longstaff and Bruno are so important to how we play.  Both were missing today in their own way.

Still, we had chances. With a bit of luck, we could have easily walked away with a point or more against a team who are miles away from the 18 clubs below them.

Frustrating as fuck

Yeah, didn't give a good account of ourselves but also didn't get the run of the ball. Murphy hits a shot through a defender - hits the post. Odegaard does the same and its a goal. Schar has the biggest chance of the match and heads it straight at their keeper. Fine margins.

They broke through our lines a few times first half, so on the whole we deserved to lose.

Bruno doesn't look fit. Conversely Maxi did, to the point where I think he should have come on when Almiron did. It would have been a brave call but perhaps first change should have been Maxi for Wilson with Murphy left on. Murphy was involved both times we hit the woodwork.
