We've got an awful habit as a fanbase of wanting to sell our best players at any point they're having a bad patch.

The whole team is playing shit, he's absolute mustard and the type of player we need to keep about long term if we ever want to amount to anything more.

Every player has good and bad spells, it's football.

Always said this. It was Tonali not long after he signed. Woltemade and Gordon are another two at the minute. Tino has been mentioned in the past along with Bruno.

Then they come back into form and the people who said it go all quiet on the subject as if they never said anything.

If I remember correctly, Isak got a mention at the beginning of last season when he went a few games without scoring. He ended the season on 28 goals.

Proper clueless crack if you ask me.

Fair point. Trips is looking a bit long in the tooth these days and Tino's not coming back any time soon. :(

Weird thing to get wound about tbh. It’s definitely not an answer you’ll get from all agents either.

People seem to just get a weird level of smug satisfaction from 'nailed on he's off' type posts, it's annoying. Applies to any unqualified pessimism TBH.

Being really jealous of Aston Villa is a similar thing now I think about it, some kind of masochism among football fans which makes them feel better I guess.

I love Sandro, proper gladiator, he's been a pit pony of late but the system isn’t working for our players and he's just another casualty of that, probably a number of things that have attributed to his form, not least having a tiny human in the house.

An agent wouldn't be an agent if he wasn't hawking his best assets to bring that sweet lucre in, whether that be an improved contract or a bumper deal with another club. Interesting comment there from Riso that Tonali is attached to the club, I don't think he goes unless it's beneficial for everyone.

It's verging on stupidity what we're asking of an ageing, just back from injury Trippier. Opposing managers must be eyeing this

If he leaves or not the club should have a list of possible replacements, none of this flapping like we did with Isak.

I wasn’t being smug or getting any satisfaction from it. I feel it’s certain he leaves and hope we go a different direction with any replacement.

Same here. Despite his poor form this season, he is still one of my favourite players and I would love him to stay. But I don't want a repeat of the Isak saga, if his agent is touting him to other clubs then I would prefer we get ahead of it and sign a young midfielder who can be the next Tonali.

I’d love to see him and Bruno playing the double pivot, a proper 4-2-3-1 system that Rafa loved to use. I think Elanga and Gordon would work as the two wider in the three too

It's much easier for the miserable cunts to doom monger and then say "I told you so" when things go bad, because if things go good no one cares who said what because things are going good.

Being a perma-misery Chicken Little gobshite is the equivalent of always putting a safety bet on for Newcastle to lose.

I’d rather he stayed, he’s proven he can be a top player and I don’t think his recent form is anything to do with a bad attitude or lack of effort. If a player is interested in leaving though I’d rather they left, and we need to plan for the summer. Hopefully they speak to him to clarify what he wants.

Still think he's been mostly misused here like. Would've loved to see him play further forward but alas.

The guy is quality and would walk into most teams midfields in the world, he would be a huge loss.

This season is an anomaly because most of the team is playing shite

At the level we are at, you're always likely to lose some players when you miss out on CL football and it's a bit more understandable than Isak in the sense that he's not leaving when the club is on the top of the world, right after a cup win and CL qualification.

He's a great player but in bad form and at least somewhat replaceable given current composition of the squad. We'll live. You sell some players, you buy some more, that's just the circle of life in football.

Bit embarrassing this from Tonali, he needs to show a bit of respect and tell his agent to shut the fuck up.

Who do you think told the agent to start talking?

That’ll be Curtis Jones they’re talking about.

I’d stop watching.

He would probably cost more than Tonali [emoji38] I’d be amazed if we did business with Liverpool again for a while.

I don’t believe it. Andy Howe wouldn’t do that to us.
