NUFC Transfer Rumours

We need some strong buys, because whilst our initial wave was nearly all hits, there can be an argument our more recent signings could end up being more the opposite.

Since start of last summer it’s looking like Kelly, Osula, Ramsdale and Elanga. We need Elanga to be a certified hit, as Kelly is gone after not helping on the pitch, Osula likely to go same way, Ramsdale just a desperation loan and then it’s Elanga.

Chasing players like Thiaw doesn’t point to it being hits either.

In Eddie we trust. It’s all I’ve got [emoji38] (not convinced by the nephew).

Can we go in for Dibling please?

From the little I saw of him last season, he looks like he Will go on to become

a worldie...

This will only happen with the right coach, and Eddie probably is that coach.

The 2 lads we have brought in are quality additions.

Elanga will be great for our balance and output on the right. He's an upgrade to Miggy and hopefully still have a purple Murphy to compete on that side.

I've spoken to a handful of Arsenal fans and not one of them a bad word about Ramsdale. I think he could turn out a shrewd move.

We've lost out on so many though it's embarrassing. I've seen quite a few mention that we are only "early" in the project but the fact of the matter is PIF said they wanted to be challenging for titles within 5 years. I dont see us being any closer than we were 2 or 3 years ago to having that squad capable of doing so.

Hopefully there will be a sense of urgency around our dealings and we can get some signings done because there is no chance we can fight on all fronts with the numbers we currently have.

He's a winger, that's not a position we need to fill.

As a side note, I do think part of the reason why everyone's emotions are so heightened is that we now live in a time where we are literally bombarded by information, from thousands of people all shouting into the void for clout and worth, with an apparent need to get ahead of the rest, so every single piece of information of a particular transfer, or proposed transfer gets shouted from hundreds of people, with some having a clear agenda and others just making things up. All of that leads to a situation where it gets peoples backs up, and make it feel like everything is so suffocating.

Honestly, just switching your brain off as much as you can and ignoring everything, and just seeing where we end up is quite cathartic.

This is a very good point, and I'm as guilty as anyone about getting worked up. You wouldn't believe that there are still over 3 weeks to go before the end of the window, and we've already brought in reinforcements for two of the weaker areas of the squad.

The Isak issue has made us angry, and perhaps some of that anger is being displaced unjustly towards the club.

We were so close to doing something, we've come into the summer on the back of our best season in decades, finally breaking that trophy duck and qualifying for the Champions League again and it really felt like the summer we'd be able to finally spend and kick on further and possibly even start to think about challenging at the top with the right recruitment. Enter Isak and the miserable 6 to squash any and all of the feel good factor and completely demolish our summer.

The low only hurts so much because we've crashed down from being so high up. The whole situation is making me angry, but it's impossible to place that anger in any one place as its a perfect storm of ire from several different directions.

The main anger for me is stemmed at what is a massive missed opportunity to really kick on after last season. We where probably 3/4 quality signings away from really pushing on, as it stands we look like we are going backwards.

I think we’re beyond being fussy with our targets now. Let’s just pick up as many good value targets as we can get and move them next year for a profit.

40m dibling

40m guehi

40m wissa

40m Gallagher or paqueta

that would work just about If we keep Isak until next summer

if we have to sell then I’d get endrick on loan, leoni at 35m and one of Samu or Ramos at 55m.

plenty of money there to afford all that just not much time at our run rate

Could maybe get Vitinha for £40m too. Or Haaland?

You've summed up well how many of us feel.

Any attempt to progress has been stomped on by made-up league rules or directly by the cartel themselves.

Our (long term) hope now lies with PIF & their plans for increasing revenues (i.e. stadium, sponsorships etc) that will take us up a level.

The current gap between us and the cartel is more like a chasm and until we address the revenue busting opportunities it will always be forever thus.

This summer has been an eye opener.

The trouble is that they've also got revenue streams covered, so any huge revenue streams are radically reduced like they did with Sela thus drastically reducing our ability to grow the club.

Which adds further justification for a multi-purpose new stadium, given the current restrictions its likely our best hope of boosting revenue to such a degree that it allows us to consistently compete with the cartel

I’d go right now, if you want Isak offer 180 + 40 adorns. Caceido was 120 after a good season a few years ago, Coutinho 142 a decade ago. That’s the rate for a world superstar striker. If not he stays, he can play in the reserves don’t care. No more going in for expensive players. Only signings large amounts of Brighton, Brentford, Villa, RB, type signings. I’ll grudgingly accept the next few seasons of outgoings and 8-10th finished if the future looks bright. If they don’t change course and PIF don’t have a rep here making us more than an asset on a sheet, then I’ll watch it numbly expecting nothing til things change, bit like the Ashley years but without the threat of relegation and at least we have talented players to sell.

There’s not a chance we have another £160m to spend without selling Isak
