Can't wait for Saturday 12.30 when 11 men who don't know I even exist set my mood for the next 9 months

Enough about your personal life,  what about the match?

I would consider Ederson/Gallagher a role we don't have. Rotate with the 3 starters.

El Khannous a peg down.

Loan out Miley.

Willock just there to round off the numbers.

Thats my ideal / dream like

John Percy article on El Khannouss interest. Price is 30m+

Quote

Newcastle United are considering a move to trigger Leicester midfielder Bilal El Khannouss’s release clause this week.

The Morocco international is emerging as a serious target for Newcastle’s manager Eddie Howe in his bid to recruit attacking reinforcements and could be offered a swift return to the Premier League.

Signed for a fee of around £19.5m from Belgian club Genk last August, El Khannouss has a clause that can be activated following Leicester’s relegation to the Championship.

It is understood that the price is more than £30m and expires later this week, so Newcastle are now accelerating their interest.

Leeds have also displayed interest in the attacking midfielder, who played the full 90 minutes of Leicester’s victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday. He also provided both assists for the goals scored by Jannik Vestergaard and Wout Faes.

Newcastle are keen to bring in versatile attacking players and can also offer the incentive of Champions League football this season.

El Khannouss was one of the few players to impress in Leicester’s difficult Premier League season and is regarded as a talent with huge potential to improve.

Leicester have already sold goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and defender Conor Coady since relegation to the Premier League.

Abdul Fatawu, the Ghana international, and defender James Justin have also attracted interest from Everton in this transfer window.

Marti Cifuentes, the new Leicester manager, has only signed free agent Asmir Begovic since his appointment last month but any further sales could boost his hopes of making new additions.

Leicester face Huddersfield Town in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, before a trip to Preston North End this weekend.

The alternative would be playing Willock. Howe seemingly has Miley pegged as right sided.

Not sure he does. He starts players there when new with the central one like a minder. See Shelvey with Bruno and Bruno with Sandro.

Fwiw I don't see Miley having any of the out of possession nouse yet for being central.

Considering yet accelerating interest ? A little contradictory.

If we do sign him along with Thiaw and Wissa, it shows a re-affirmation that the 30-35 million price tag is our sweet spot and preferred MO.

Cheap enough that they can quote easily double in value, low enough that you can not make much of a PSR loss if they don't quite work out and sell in a couple of years.

It’s better than playing Targett or Ashby in midfield.

touche - I think my expectations are too high. He's not a player that particular caught my eye when I watched Leicester play - albeit in a horrific side.

This and I think we'll still attempt the £60m market for proven quality. This isn't a bad fall back. It's why I'm pretty happy with how we've went about things.

We need max 6 midfielders, minimum 5.

If you exclude Willock who has consistent injury issues, we actually need 2 more alongside Bruno, Tonali, Miley and Big Joe.

I also don't see it purely through the lens of a starting 3 and who is the backup.

All 6 need to be ready to be deployed in varying combinations based on how Eddie sees the team setting up on the day.
