Just me who thinks £5m for Pope is really decent considering he cost us £10m four years ago and has declined rapidly in the last 12-18 months? I'd honestly be expecting some sort of nominal fee of £1m or less given his recent showings.

I’d say it’s a bit more than I expected, but not completely OTT. 
 

He obviously made a fair number of mistakes last season, but he’s still a very capable shot-stopper who commands his box well.

 

If Ipswich (or anyone else) don’t try and play out through him and don’t have too high of a line, he’ll be a good signing for them for a couple of years.

£5m is enough to tempt the promoted three or those just above them to bid. I think Wilson is going for efficiency over quibbling for an extra £1-2million.
