NUFC Transfer Rumours

Without sounding like that article posted yesterday, I think people are sleeping on the midfield situation. It's almost taken over the CB problem for me. Purely from a numbers perspective.

Bruno has been run into the ground for the last 2-3 years and Joelinton has proven the last few years that he does pick up injury problems as well as suspensions.

We always play 3 in midfield and we are asking those guys to put in a massive shift and to; a) not get fatigued b) not get injured and c) not get suspended.

The drop off to Miley and also injury prone Willock is huge. Striker and midfielder are essential and then ideally a CB to improve the standard of defenders and replace aging Schar/Burn and cover injury prone Botman.

Should have been done last summer but again it gets pushed down the line and in terms of urgency it can probably wait til January now due to other necessities.

I think from a numbers perspective midfield is worse off. From a quality perspective we have a top 4 midfield and a mid-table CB pairing.

I dont say that because I dont love Burn and Schar but because of their age. Obviously Botman is class but hes injured too much for me to trust him.

Ive been banging this drum for weeks but an Eddie Howe side (especially at SJP) will always score goals because of the style and intensity we play at but if we keep playing old CBs, any opposition with pace will kill us.

There's also the option of playing 2 CMs which I suspect Howe is thinking of edging towards in the future, but then that requires 2 strikers.

Lots of work to do.

We really need that first domino to fall. I thought it was Elanga but turns out it definitely wasn't.

Sesko or Wissa or even Guehi/Scalvini might be one to kickstart something this summer.

Bit too fucking late though either way. Can't blame people at the club for not seeing this Isak mess coming but you can absolutely blame them for the way everything else around them has fallen apart.

If our next 2 targets are Strand Larsen and Watkins then we’re fucked. We’re the most direct rival Villa have and Wolves are dead without Strand Larsen. Neither would happen.

This is an internet football forum for fuck sake, people getting into fights with each other and asking for apologies shows a complete lack of perspective. Get a grip, get a life, stop taking everything so seriously.

Can’t imagine how some of those on here would’ve survived on Skunkers like

I get the general striker strategy intention, tbh - one striker with PL experience, one Euro option. The idea of plucking a domestic option feels very far away though, Wissa aside.

If I could have my pick of other PL strikers I'd like to have here, I think Evanilson's style is perfect for Howe.

Nick Woltemade doesn’t want the Premier League

Manchester United and Newcastle had Nick Woltemade on their shortlists. However, the VfB Stuttgart striker is still focused on Bayern Munich. He doesn’t want to leave the Bundesliga at this stage. On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Bayern bosses where they discussed how they’ll move in the window for Woltemade. There have already been two offers rejected – one of €40m [£34.5m] plus €5m and the second of €50m [£43.2m] plus €5m. Now they’ve decided to play on time, as they don’t want to raise their offer again. They hope Stuttgart will come back to the table, as it’s a lot of money for the club as it stands, and they can’t guarantee that another club will be prepared to pay this fee next year. So, it’s a tactic by Bayern to put pressure on Stuttgart.

I want Wissa, but not the rest of our targets. Watkins is a great player, but the fees are crazy for players like Muniz and Strand Larsen. Wissa and one of Woltemade or Aghehowa. We dont have to do all of our business with PL clubs.

Who in a lot of cases bought the "youngsters with potential" who loads on this forum want us to continually pivot to, most of which went on to flop massively

Difference is, we have a manger capable of improving players.

Who this forum continually criticise for wanting PL proven players 🤷🏻‍♂️

Think the critcism is that we keep getting priced out of these PL proven players and that there's better value for £ abroad.

I think it’s more we seem to almost have abandoned the types of Bruno, Botman and Isak signings.
