NUFC Transfer Rumours

How about we actually play with an actual striker up top? Osula should start really until we get reinforcements in.

It feels incredibly harsh to lose your main two strikers and then use a winger up top.

But he’s not as good as Gordon.

We need to remember that Ashley bought Big Jo in the belief that we’d be able to turn him into a centre forward. We then endured Bruce playing him in that position game after game throwing him under the bus regularly in press conferences. It got to point where Big Jo  was just a joke and his career must have been in danger of going down the leagues.

He never was and never will be a centre forward.

His shooting is quite weak, and even then it's not particularly accurate either. He can't even direct his headers. The only thing he's got going for him is he's big, and the ball sticks a bit.

Indeed.

The thought of him missing headers for fun and then laughing about it, doesn't really excite me that much either.

Sorloth and Jackson will bag us a hatful of goals, tbf. Jackson makes tons of xGs and Sorloth can at least fucking twat a ball the good old-fashioned way.

There's possibly a reason why hes never been trusted.

Let's look at the two.

Pace is nigh on equal between them.

Physicality gordon is weak as piss osula isn't.

Balls into the box who's more likely to get on the end of them osula.

Striking osula all day aswell.

Gordon tries but isn't any better than osula.

Corners he is a threat in the box.

Never been trusted or giving a run of games to get used to the role.

That is true, but in the limited time he’s had as CF, he’s contributed virtually nothing.

And for all the angst over Gordon’s finishing at Villa, he still ran away from an England CB, forcing him to pull him down and get sent off.

You must have been watching a different Osula to me. The only I’d give you would be strength (although it’s questionable he knows how to use it productively).

Also fairly laughable to suggest he’s as quick as Gordon.

Gordon played well against Villa, but I'd still of preferred osula up top. He's rapid aswell so could easy envisage the same scenario happening with the sending off.

Why? He's a quick fella.

He has a decent turn of pace, but Gordon is one of the quickest in the league.

People underestimate Gordon’s speed, he’s lightning. And that underestimation will probably continue as we’ve now got just about the quickest player going on the other side in Elanga.

At the end of the day we have one striker on strike and another who waited all last season to get a go, and who has been replaced with player who is no better in that position.

I'd be furious if it where me.

And whether you rate osula or not I think he deserves to start up top otherwise get rid.

Still think if they had a foot race tino Gordon osula there wouldn't be much in it.

Gordon knows where to run and when. Osula, as yet, plays like an excited 11yr old.

Osula reached the top sprint speed this weekend despite only being on the pitch for a few minutes, Gordon came 5th. Elanga wasn't on the list

We're going into the last 2 weeks of the transfer window needing 2 strikers, with a tiny list of targets and a recruitment team that has proven itself to be a bit sub-par. Regardless of who we get, we're going to get bent over

I disagree apart from the fact we can’t get a striker that the recruitment team is sub par

Like when we are fizzing balls across the box and gordon isn't alert to them.

Like when Osula attempts to press by running straight at the keeper.

Can't remember too many balls fizzed across the box mind.
