NUFC Transfer Rumours

I don’t blame the transfer team for that though

You cant blame the team for isak but Wilson left weeks ago and while you may want to see how much the isak replacement was going to cost you if the money needed to be split between two strikers waiting around for 2 or 3 weeks for wissa seems to look like a mistake right now. Causing us to play wingers as strikers and the league has now started.

Wilson left 7th July according to good old google

The lack of a starting striker directly correlated to "dropping " 2 points vs villa.

Yep. We've had ample time to get a Wilson replacement, and while Wissa was a great choice, our transfer team seem to be none the wiser as to if he's even available or not.

If wissa comes in this week for under 40m and goes on to score loads then on reflection you say glad we waiting for best available option. However like you say there is no public assurance they will play ball or we can agree a fee.

Right now seems to be reported at least a 15 or 20m valuation gap.

We signed Bruno, Isak, Botman, Gordon, Tonali - someone convinced them we were an attractive option. Whatever is being pitched to the players we have targeted hasn't been anywhere near as convincing or powerful, evidently.

I don't think we should focus too much on players, the big negative for me this transfer window is that we must have awful relationships with agents. They're the gatekeepers who make or break deals and where conversations take place before we even approach a club.

They've lead us down the garden path a few times this summer.

Osula reached the top sprint speed this weekend despite only being on the pitch for a few minutes, Gordon came 5th. Elanga wasn't on the list

Which would suggest the ‘top sprint speed’ is questionable at best.

Do you think that it's a case of the club in general having awful relationships with agents though?

Or is it some combination of:

- Not having any structure at the exec level doing this stuff

- Steve Nickson and Andy Howe doing jobs that aren't their jobs, so not realising if they're getting led down the garden path or having the piss taken out of them

- Agents trying to take the piss out of the club

- The exec vacuum meaning Nickson and Howe think they're getting somewhere then Rueben or PIF put the skids on it

Of course the people doing the work now = the club, and could mean awful relationships now/in future, which is where we have to hope the new exec appointments are able to smooth over any "Fuck dealing with that lot" sentiment. The answer is probably a bit of everything.

Agents will always be in the business of getting the best deal for their client and themselves and in the players we’ve missed out on the financial packages we’re likely more appealing with the big 6 club.

Sorloth is apparently available for around €35m he’s been kicking off with Simeone.

I'd take him in a heartbeat as a Wilson replacement, I watch a lot of German footie and he scores some crackers. Then Wissa could be the Isak replacement.

I can't see it though.

It could just be that there's a bunch of people on here think it's all a piece of piss, this signing players malarkey, and they base their entire philosophy on assumption, conjecture, media grifting and hundreds of hours on FM2024

You mean it doesn't really work like that? 🤯

Don't underestimate the effect of people believing everything they read on the Twatter about who we're allegedly trying to sign

Romano and the other habitual bullshitters make false claims about our interest and people lap them up, then people say its a failure when that player signs for someone else

I'm not saying we haven't struggled to bring some players in that we genuinely attempted to sign, but I bet only a tiny % of "links" that get shared on NO have any basis in truth

That Sorlath kid moves clubs more than Soft Mick

And now he's fallen out with Simeone and is demanding a move

Aye, also while Elanga seemed to take a while to confirm the other 3 went from link to done pretty quickly didn't they, not much faffing about so we are still functioning

West Ham potential suitor for Vardy

They've already signed Wilson, their fans would have a fit if they signed another pensioner. Vardy is starting to look like a viable option. I went off the idea when I found out his age (I thought he was 33/34) but even at 45 or whatever he is, he can come off the bench for half an hour and occasionally start. We need 2 strikers, they have to come from somewhere. Vardy, one season, 8-12 goals. Why the hell not.

Do the crack dealers in the UK give massive discounts the closer you get to the end of a transfer window?

They give a massive discount and also add some DMT to the crack

It's the only logical explanation for some of the absolute nonsense that gets posted on here about transfers

They throw in some Mogodons and DF-118’s for shits and giggles.
