Osula reached the top sprint speed this weekend despite only being on the pitch for a few minutes, Gordon came 5th. Elanga wasn't on the list

I thought somebody posted a list after the first games and Gordon, Osula and Elanga were amongst the fastest?  Found it:

I disagree apart from the fact we can’t get a striker that the recruitment team is sub par

They're sub par because they couldn't persuade players to come here instead of teams with currently larger profiles and/or wallets.

Sorry, could you clarify what you mean?

I mean as of today we’ve upgraded our back up keeper, centre back , centre midfield and starting right winger … take away the Isak issue if you were offered that before summer you’d be saying we’re not doing too bad

Speed in football is an odd metric. So much relies on anticipation, reaction times and those first few strides. I'm sure I've read for years that first Dummett and now Botman are among the fastest players around at least when they get up to speed. On the other hand Elanga apparently registered a 10.93 over 100 metres from a standing start which sounds positively lethargic.

We signed Bruno, Isak, Botman, Gordon, Tonali - someone convinced them we were an attractive option. Whatever is being pitched to the players we have targeted hasn't been anywhere near as convincing or powerful, evidently.

Gordon is a poor striker in terms of being a goal threat, but he’s comfortably the best in terms of his movement. That alone will keep defenders on their toes, force mistakes and create space. On top of his knowledge of when and where to press.

Well if yous all think gordon is the answer up top then where golden. 😂

I'd much rather keep trying to get the actual young striker to come good and improve on the qualities he already has.

He's not the answer. The answer is neither of those two options at present.  Good of you to try to spin  it that way though.

I dont remember too much competition at the time  for them. Botman aside but Italian football doesn't have the pull it once had.

Yeah like at the end of the game and he took a shot on from a country mile away when he could've slipped Murphy in. To quote Jim royle he's one greedy sod. 😂

Not spinning anything mate.

I Just think Osula is entitled to start games up top over a winger.

It's a net improvement but when you look at what we could've had - Elanga, Trafford, Guehi, Sesko, Ramsey, you could also say we're not as strong as we could've been if we'd convinced better players to come. Thiaw is an unknown quantity and whatever we get striker-wise will be from our backup list rather than the primary list

Not sure if posted, but according to Alex Crook:

"Newcastle have run background checks on Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, but it would take a mega offer to prise him away from Molineux.

Strand Larsen is emerging as a potential option for the Magpies as their pursuit of Yoane Wissa continues to stall.

talkSPORT can reveal Toon boss Eddie Howe has spoken to at least one of the Norwegian’s former coaches to get a character reference on the 25-year-old.

Wolves have no desire to sell Strand Larsen, who is now seen as their main source of goals following Matheus Cunha’s departure to Manchester United

Newcastle still hope to sign two strikers but, as exclusively revealed by talkSPORT on Monday, Brentford are blocking Wissa’s exit, while talks with Porto for Samu have also broken down."

Yeah other than the fact that we currently have no operational striker, it's been a good window.

Gordon will never be the answer that's why I reiterate would go for hoijland. Nowt to lose speaking  in a position of where we stand at present.

I'd accept us going for Hojlund but not for the reported valuation of 40-50m Euro. 30-35 would be ok
