NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Seeing some news that Frankfurt are signing a forward on loan from Forest coupled with earlier signing of another forward could mean they no longer interested on Osula.

Wouldn't mind him staying and being able to backup our current strikers. We don't seem to be in a need to sell and we have loads of games coming up. Just need to get him fit this month and contributing from Feb onwards.

Would be totally against loaning him to a PL club, can't see any benefit in that arrangement for us.

None of that really aligns with what's happened I don't think.

Anderson only left because of FFP, Miley has played 22 times this season, 11 starts and only 4 of those have been at RB. Osula has had cup games and sub appearances this season and was nowhere near ready last season. It says everything to me that Osula's perceived value is being based on Villa and Frankfurt being interested, and not Howe signing him.

It wasn't that long ago a lot of us were saying he should go out on loan as he wasn't featuring this season. Miley.

Osula was underused this year like woltemade was getting nearly a full 90 and if he were subbed gordon was getting the nod up top.

He's good. Didn't watch him for a long while, but he's definitely got the receipts, as they say, when it comes to identifying players.

I can vouch for it being his actual name. Played football with him for a bit as a young'un.

So people want us to sell Woltemade and Elanga in the summer then?

If that’s directed at me I think my post was pretty clear in the context.

Rather than change how our wingers play and our midfield is setup which then effects our fullbacks leading to the positioning of our CB’s I think it be much easier solution to sell Nick and buy a forward that fits what we’ve been great at for 3 years personally 🤷🏼‍♂️

Go back to my posts over the summer and I’ve always been anti Woltemade. Lovely lad and great character and hopefully next season if he’s here which you’d expect him to be then a pre-season and training sessions might fix the issues his natural/current style of play are causing us.

Elanga I was never really sold on but saw the sense with Isak in the team.

Don’t think either will be sold but if you could recoup most of your money back I’d be tempted.

Selling Woltemade in the summer is hardly an insane idea if Howe isn’t going to adapt the system to him and the lad can’t play in that system.

I’m not advocating for it, but it’s hardly an illogical thought.

There’s a question over whether Howe is going to be able to build an effective system with him in. I’m not sure he’s going to be our long term centre forward as I think we’ll always need pace up front that can stretch defences. In theory he could play behind a player like that and hopefully we see it tested with Wissa. I’m not sure Howe fancies it though.

Fuck me  I know people like to defend Howe to the hilt but we’re now suggesting to sell our record signing because Howe is incapable or unwilling to find a way to effectively use him?

Howe has always struggled with the big gap between our midfield and defence, let us sell Tonali too.

Given that Eddie was basically the transfer czar last summer I would be very surprised if Woltemade isn’t a player he’s keen to build around for the next few years, especially given the promising signs we’ve seen from him so far.

I can honestly see the logic in moving him on for a profit and getting a player who profiles more similarly to Isak, but it would be a very discouraging sign for me.

Woltemade represents an opportunity for us to evolve our style, think it’s as simple as Eddie needing a bit of time both working with him and on the training ground to find the way the rest of the team needs to adjust to such a different style of CF.

I suspect that’s happening regardless in the summer

He's going in the summer anyway
