NUFC Transfer Rumours

I know it's unlikely but wouldn't mind another leftie in the squad for the attacking roles.

I know almiron had his flaws but he still gave us something different from time to time.

Been told Tripps would be open to a move to Saudi for a couple of years and if he could, a return to Burnley to end his career. This is through someone who knows him and a conversation of what he wants as opposed to what will happen. Certainly not beyond the realms of possibility. A move ultimately back to the north west would make sense.

A couple of years in Saudi, and then a move to Burnley? He's 35 and got one foot in the glue factory already.

Think he meant if he couldn’t move to Saudi then a move to Burnley.

I don't really expect us to do any major business unless we sell. Maybe if we can get a really highly rated youngster in we might do that. A couple of loan signings would seem the best bet, but I don't think Eddie's the type who goes for them usually. Ramsdale was more the exception to the rule IMO>

Feel like loan signings are clearly the best bet but we don’t follow this.

Even getting some experience in the squad rather than just a 22-24 year old profile.

Villa did some decent loans last Jan. Rashford, Asensio and buying Malen to freshen up their squad.Nearly worked for them bar a disgraceful decision at Old Trafford to cost them Champions League place.. Dont think Eddie wants a short term fix though with loans

It wasn’t a disgraceful decision. Was the correct decision if you rewatch the footage. The GK’s hand was stood on.

Sorry Paul, I think your opinions with refs etc are very good (especially by this places standards) but this is a ridiculous take.  I don't see anywhere he stands on his hand when reviewing the footage.

if we make just the one signing in this window I'd love a quality left back. Because one thing is staring me in the face, Lewis Hall ain't staying in that position, he's too fucking good to be wasted there

I do think Rogers stood on the 'keeper's hand but people talk about that match like it was a 0-0 parking the bus by Man United who also had something on the line and Villa needed 2 points to qualify for the CL.

Villa didn't play well, didn't deserve to win, rightly went down to 10 men and lost 2-0 to the worst Man United team in our lifetimes who hadn't won at home since February, and had nothing to play for. Villa only needed 1 point in the end, or better goal difference than us, which they were nowhere near.

Ironically Howe, the manager who did get us there on GD, would never ever be afforded the luxury of having that situation be described as "unlucky" by those who think our current situation is unacceptable and attributable to him.

Latest from Hope...

A move for Dayann Methalie is expected.

Smit is likely to stay put and will have his pick of clubs across Europe in the summer.

We have no plans to go back in for Trafford and we will look at alternative targets in the summer.

Villa are sniffing around Osula at a bargain price, something we're unwilling to entertain. Frankfurt and Palace are also interested.

At present there have been no approaches for Willock.

There won’t be. He’s an Ashley era signing. Not good enough for any Premier League club to look at, and on too high of a wage to go to the Championship or where his standard is at.

I disagree on the wage, Ashley was a tight cunt on those

Under Ashley we paid over inflated wages to some of our players who we really struggled to get rid of such as Hayden, Colback and Ritchie.

On Willock he is premier league player for a mid to lower level team. If he remains fit he is a dangerous player.

No, what we did was we gave them ridiculously long contracts.  Their wages were relative.
