We got Tripper, Burn, Targett, Bruno all in Jan - so whilst I am not saying it is easy we have proven it is possible.

Agreed, I think we’ll probably bring in a defender

Yes but who were those 4 replacing is the question you should be asking to find your answer regarding the difficulty now.

I mean I worked out what it was but just haven't heard it, ever. It does sound like something some daft young un might say though. 😆

Bell Whiff’s been around for decades

Cheesy Bell Whiff was a top tier insult amongst Tyne Valley yoots in the late 80’s and early 90’s

We needed players who were ready to step in an be able to play at champions League level and in the league competing for a champions league spot.

It's totally different to sides who really only need to avoid relegation. If Brighton or someone finish 9th or 15th it doesn't really make that much of a difference to them. They can sign a load of gambles, give them a load of game time and not have to worry about results that much. If they hit the jackpot and then can flip one for a massive profit then it covers all the ones that don't.

These £15m players wouldn't develop the same way here on limited minutes as they would elsewhere either.

Why wouldn't they develop?

People say players need time under Howe to learn the way and improve, so what's the difference here? Signing Ramsey and Elanga for £100m is every much the same as a gamble as signing the data driven same profile players from elsewhere for £20m. We can't then cry and moan about PSR when we're sticking with Option A.

The circumstances were entirely different during that window

What has circumstance to do with the fact we were able to get players in Jan?

We were totally desperate at that stage, look at the squad we had going into that window.

It’s not the same this time, but of course we are able to.. we just won’t. It’s that our targets now are overpriced or won’t want to move during the winter window.

We desperately need a Krafth replacement/upgrade. That level of player is 100% available in January.

How much has Krafth played this season?

Abdul Fatawu may be an interesting one from the Championship if Leicester don't bounce back. Looked lively last season as a kid before doing his ACL, not seen him this season but is putting up good numbers for a 21 year old.

He’s been crocked most of it.

It's weird tbh. Krafth was noted as injured same time as Trips, yet we've had no definite news on the injury or when he is due back. Lascelles and Osula were much the same really, vague notions of 'not quite right' and injuries we find out about after the fact.

Yeah good shout, I've always liked the look of him when I've seen Leicester highlights. Scores some absolute pearlers

All it takes is hall to take a knock and we'll be back to the bare bones in defence. I'd bring a loan in atleast don't taje a chance with fitness of your backline.

The club always seems to take the view of the long term unless their hand is forced (like with Wissa) and I think Howe is okay with that as long as he’s allowed some influence on who comes in.

Villa seem to have their stalwarts in McGinn, Watkins, Roger’s and Konya etc and make very of the moment signings to try and solidify their position.

Rogers is the definition of a January punt, coming in at this time two years ago for 8m.

Always saw him as a Murphy replacement

The problem we have is Elanga is really not performing - which means it might be a position we really upgrade in the summer

It's not him specifically as I know he's barely kicked a ball this season. It's more that we need a solid player who like Krafth who could cover two positions competently and provide us with enough depth to rotate a little and rest key players without the drop off in quality being too much.

When is he due back?

I don't think there is a date. I don't recall when he was injured even, I just know he has been for ages

Think it was a knee injury when on one of the internationals weeks.

There's not many players willing to come here on a loan to be cover just in case Hall gets injured.

Besides, I doubt Howe looks at it the same way with Burn being available again.
