They could do a bit of wheeling and dealing if they wanted to (Willock is one who comes to mind) but they obviously don't want to. Prefer if we took risks like Villa do but it'll be all about who's available/unavailable on "the list".

After today I’m of the mindset to just leave it until the summer now. Fair play to Howe for acknowledging he needs to get the best out of what he’s got.

Some big questions and analysis required after last summer before we spend again in my opinion.

I wonder if some part of the decision is to both see how well he does at the en of the season, and also to see if his signings are going to come good. It could be that we change strategy in the summer by at the very least not letting him have so much control over signings.

Get the impression from that he’s been told work with what you got, you had £200m+ in summer.

There will be too much to do in summer to sort out all the current and potential issues.

If all players who have contract expiring in June leave we will need at least 2 fullbacks, 2 centre backs as a min.

We are criminally low on players now, it will be negligence if we don't get some defensive cover.

We also need to sell Willock in this window as he will only have 12 months left on contract in summer so will be lucky to get £15 million for him. If we can move him on we need a creative player.

I also think its an Eddie Howe bluff tbh we will bring in a player or two this window.

I may never emotionally recover from spending £200M+ on Wissa, Woltemade, Ramsey, and Elanga.

I was just making the same remark while watching this Arsenal game. We don’t have the luxury like Man Utd to waste that amount of money and go again

Yeah, I'm with you.

I don't know who we could sign that would make much of a difference anyway. I feel like it would be a waste, at this point.

Better to save whatever money we have for the summer because I have a feeling we are going to need every penny we can find.

It's like Man U levels of wastage looking at what these players have offered overall this season. Except for us it's a financial catastrophe as we don't have the income to write such spending off.

Question for everyone. If there was suddenly say £50m and a few hundred grand wages a week available today, do we think Eddie would want to bring in a creative player similar to the type being spoken about?

I feel like we'd get another fast winger or tall lad.

The Wissa, Ramsey and Elanga are especially egregious. Absolute overpayments for decent Premier League standard players.

At least Woltemade is an asset. Even if it doesn't work out for him here, there will be takers for him elsewhere, so we should get a decent amount of our money back.

The other 3 are a complete write-off if they don't start performing.

We'd get Adama Traore.

This is what I suspect has happened. I would want them to convince me they’ve fixed whatever went wrong in the summer before I gave them more.

I think Man U had a vey good window and with a competent manager they’ll now make top 5.

I’d rather we spent £90m on wages and a transfer fee for Cunha or Mbuemo

Night and day in comparison to what we signed unfortunately. I can handle losing out on those players, but our plan B options were lazy, not what we needed and have set the club back massively.

PIF are ultimately accountable and the trust they put in Howe to spend the money a massive mistake.

Well he's getting 3/5ths of fuck all out of the ones he got with the last bag of cash so I wouldn't be giving him any more either tbh.

They really were done with us after Steveley left weren't they

No but they’re process driven and it’s not suited to the fast moving world of football. Selling a purple like Isak was meant to herald the next stage of the rebuild if it had to happen.

Unfortunately, they move at a snails pace and we should have had a DOF in place to oversee everything. I’m not sure what top 5 club would have allowed the Howe’s a free run to spend 200 million.

It looked like a scattergun approach at the time and so it’s proven.
