It doesn’t happen because selling clubs like to maximise interest and price. Agents like to maximise club interest so they stand a chance of getting a bigger. On top of this we have the World Cup this year which means the majority of top level players will either be at the World Cup, or be dependant on moves that will happen as a result of the players at the World Cup moving clubs. Take your point, but combination of World Cup, recent ‘transfer trauma’ and its consequences, people actually being in post to concentrate on such things during the season, amount of early rumblings, and likely costly outgoings, makes me think we might just do it for a change.
