I'm not expecting Livramento to be peak Trippier for various reasons, but I'm just trying to highlight that individually I find it difficult to use him being surrounded by poor players as an excuse for basic errors and poor performances considering that this didn't seem to effect Trippier (or indeed Krafth whenever called upon tbf). Krafth has had one good game and everyone suddenly thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. I just think it's massive overreaction for both. I was never one of those who thought Krafth was that bad btw, my comments in his thread will bear that out. He's a good defender for the most part, and not the best bringing the ball out. Tino still has some rough edges, but he's still a very good RB and will get better. A couple of mistakes this season doesn't mean he's suddenly not fit for purpose. BergenMagpie Posted Saturday at 14:38 Share Posted Saturday at 14:38 So many have criticized him this season. He's 21 years old FFS He will turn into a legend for us

Smal Posted Saturday at 14:42 Share Posted Saturday at 14:42 that was much more like it. Hopefully should return some confidence to his game.

KaKa Posted Saturday at 14:54 Share Posted Saturday at 14:54 Let's go Tino! Clamped up Martinelli. Nice bit of chemistry and some patterns of play down that side with Longstaff and Gordon too. Great to see.
Pata Posted Saturday at 14:56 Share Posted Saturday at 14:56 Stunned we could beat Arsenal without Emil Krafth.

Hes half asleep defending, he’s misplacing simple passes constantly, his recovery pace to cover isn’t there, his crosses aren’t there. So yes, we want to promote and give chances to youth, but Hall is taking his chance. Tino hasn’t this season. Selling trippier wasn’t ever on guys, there wasn’t ever a bid from Bayern for 12m. It was false shit. Tino needs to show his unquestionable talent on the pitch. That is on him. Still can’t believe this post… Called it ‘bollocks’ at the time and even more so now.. cubaricho Posted Saturday at 15:21 Share Posted Saturday at 15:21 Didn’t someone suggest just yesterday that we should start Krafth instead of letting Tino play himself back into form?
Newcastle Fan Posted Saturday at 16:04 Share Posted Saturday at 16:04 Superb shift today, at the start i thought Martnelli was getting the best of him but after 10 mins or so he had him in is pocket all game.
Yorkie Posted Saturday at 16:31 Share Posted Saturday at 16:31 Don't want to take anything away from Tino but bit of a shout out for Krafthy for reminding him there's competition for his place even with Tripps out? I - an idiot - would've kept Wednesday's backline tbh.
andyc35i Posted Saturday at 16:40 Share Posted Saturday at 16:40 I stand by my statement from last season that I think he can be the best right back in the world. He has everything in his locker to get there, but it’s defensively where he really showcases his talent. Today he showed us his pace, determination, strength, positioning and also showed some cunning professionalism. Obviously he needs to improve in many areas, but the core attributes of his game are there to build on - keep it going lad!

joeyt Posted Saturday at 17:45 Share Posted Saturday at 17:45 Thought he was great, would have been raging if he'd allowed Rice to score at the end though

Rafalove Posted Saturday at 18:15 Share Posted Saturday at 18:15 One day he could be one of the very best fullbacks in the world. That’s his ceiling, imo. Still has things to work on but his ball carrying and one v one defending is very good. If he can improve his positioning, concentration and become a bit more prolific in terms of assists, he should achieve the consistency to be labelled “world class”. Sibierski Posted Saturday at 18:41 Share Posted Saturday at 18:41 No coincidence he’s a lot more confident and comfortable when he had a RW who was a valid option going inside at times and importantly tracked back. Few errors with some play, but I don’t mind that as he’s always looking for the pass out and it will come with some iffy moments, but it’s needed as it beats the press and gets us on the attack man for man.
