But pretty bang on that he put it in the only place low that side where Donnarumma couldn’t save it. Needed something right in the corner, anyway. Hitting it too near him. But he was making some smart stops and is a right old unit.

Kid Icarus
His all round game has improved. Can you even make the argument that Gordon should be starting ahead of him at this point?

Yorkie
I'm one of Gordon's biggest apologists but he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line-up as long as this guy is fit and available. He's been generally very good since Gordon got that red against Brighton. Immense contribution today, not for the first time. The lad fucking loves the Gallowgate End. Newcastle Fan
It was starting to feel like today wasn't going to be his day but he ended up as man of the match, what a fantastic striker for the first goal.

KaKa
The quick reaction and touch to control the rebound off the bar and improvise the back heel flick on the second was quality.

You would hope with the World Cup on the horizon Gordon will rise to the challenge of needing to play his way back into form and get his spot back. Jack14Bojangles
He's a great fit for Woltemade. Barnes makes excellent use of the opportunities Wolte opens up for him. It's a perfect match.
Guillaume
Unlike Gordon, Harvey scores goals.
Lush Vlad
Mentioned it a while ago and I’m not sure what criteria you’d use. Maybe say, exclude the top 20-30 prem scorers or some arbitrary number. And you could put his back catalogue of goals up against so many. So many outrageous finishes. Disco
That little touch round the corner on his goal back to Bruno is absolutely delicious. It’s an absolutely brilliant goal all round, every part of it between the two of them is perfection.

Thought that last season as well mind and then right wing Barnes happened Quality game Barnes today, he looks excellent with either Hall or Tino behind them, they link up so well together. In fact, Barnes links up well with most people in the squad, we just look better.

No pace, weak as piss and doesn’t have one trick as a wide player to go past his man. A couple of goals during the run in last season doesn’t make him a good player unfortunately. One trick pony who should be nowhere near starting in a CL game against Barcelona.
gazza ladra
I am a huge fan of Barnes, but this briad dismissal of Gordon is ridiculuous. Having Hall available is going to make a huge difference for either of them.

He's been given an extremely long rope imo and still has it.

He's been shite for probably two years now aside from a couple of games. The criticism he's getting is really fair.

He’s always produced when given a run of games. He’s the best finisher at the club (or fit) and he has to start. Unlucky to lose his shirt in the first place. Tsunami
Gordon doesn’t score the 1st and isn’t in the right place to score the 2nd. Gordon has poor end product, Barnes is the best finisher we have (albeit he went the wrong side in the 1st minute).

Took his goals well - glad he got that huge miss out of his system as well. Needs to be our starting LW for the foreseeable. Him and Hall on the left with our run could be delightful ! This is the difference between a proper finisher like Barnes and someone like Gordon. Because Barnes has really good shooting technique - when he shapes to shoot you can almost see him calm down, inhale and exhale and just focus on executing the technique smoothly. Because he knows if he does that properly, he scores. Gordon doesn’t have that fundamental technique, coordination and therefore doesn’t have that composure to consistently execute.
