Cronky
We do seem to miss Longstaff's energy in midfield. It looks very static at the moment. In fact, Isak looks like our best midfielder. The back four isn't getting much protection, and looks fragile anyway. Tonali didn't close down the shot for the goal. He's not the only one that seems to lack aggression at the moment. I'm just glad it's only one.

KetsbaiaIsBald
Really fucking infuriating this. We’ve all been chomping at the bit since the Liverpool game and then we have that 45 minutes. We need to let loose and play some fukcing football.
Dyeyzzon
Either one of Tonali or Bruno has to drop deep, and the other push forward. I'd prefer Bruno to reprise his 1st season role when he scored for fun as a #8 than a #6.

Joelinton tends to clatter people though, part of the fact he wasn’t originally a midfielder. There’s little guile in winning the ball, just monsters into players. Away Toon
Brighton have a very clear way of playing and stick to it for better or worse. We have lost our identity and apparently regressed since last season. Only 1-0 so there is hope.
Newcastle Fan
After last week's disaster it would've taken something to turn up to this but this is still very disappointing
Gawalls
I have all my Leicester, Man U and family Sunderland’s supporters texting me asking “what’s happened to you this season?” So it’s not just us overreacting on here I reckon either

Not a great message for him really.

TheInfiniteOdyssey
Massive error to not bring in a proper DM this window. Midfield doesn’t look right and more concerning is that we don’t seem able to adapt.

ElDiablo
#worrying how imbalanced the midfield looks. Running before we can walk with this Bruno/Tonali interchange thing.
Geordie Ahmed
We just seem so flat Also, too many times they pass the ball straight through our 3 midfielders One of them needs to sit
KaKa
Tonali sees the game in a completely different way to the rest of the team. Plays with so much more urgency and tempo, and no one else is alert enough to it. Until they get used to playing with him it's going to be very hit and miss. Stifler
Just now, Paulinho said: The midfield three with no designated DM was always a stupid fucking idea. All of them are arguably more defensive minded than offensive, and not one of them is going to their man. You have Isak pressing on his own centrally, and a couple of times we have had Gordon and Tonali press on the wings, but that’s it. Absolutely pathetic that for 30 minutes when we did get the ball we just hoofed back to their defensive line. Take that step to get space around your marker, get the player off the ball to come in around him, do simple triangles.

Painfully clear that he needs to come deep to provide an option against their press but he's nowhere to be seen half the time.
