We do seem to miss Longstaff's energy in midfield. It looks very static at the moment. In fact, Isak looks like our best midfielder.

The back four isn't getting much protection, and looks fragile anyway.

Tonali didn't close down the shot for the goal. He's not the only one that seems to lack aggression at the moment.

I'm just glad it's only one.

Ref buys it every time.

Joelinton tends to clatter people though, part of the fact he wasn’t originally a midfielder. There’s little guile in winning the ball, just monsters into players.

Anderson must be fucking fewming watching the last few games after the pre-season he had.

obviously worked harder than anyone else on his fitness, pre-season performances definitely earned him a start, yet he can’t get ahead of a clearly injured Joelinton. Not a great message for him really.

Tonali sees the game in a completely different way to the rest of the team.

Plays with so much more urgency and tempo, and no one else is alert enough to it.

Until they get used to playing with him it's going to be very hit and miss.

Its gonna be use him or lose him soon I reckon if we keep ignoring him

The midfield three with no designated DM was always a stupid fucking idea.

All of them are arguably more defensive minded than offensive, and not one of them is going to their man. You have Isak pressing on his own centrally, and a couple of times we have had Gordon and Tonali press on the wings, but that’s it.

Absolutely pathetic that for 30 minutes when we did get the ball we just hoofed back to their defensive line.

Take that step to get space around your marker, get the player off the ball to come in around him, do simple triangles.

Wouldn't be letting Isak off the hook. Painfully clear that he needs to come deep to provide an option against their press but he's nowhere to be seen half the time.

Couldn't believe he didn't pull the trigger on the two occasions he was in the box running at their defenders

Their left hand side walks into our team.

Ok their LB fair enough but I have been Gordons biggest critic in the past but he is playing well atm.  That aside on paper we should be more in this game.
