‘Does anybody want to say anything nice about Newcastle?’

’No’

Also, Carl Anka compares us to using public transport, like he would fucking know about that.

This is exactly who they are like, not football hipsters. They're football Tories.

ManU, Liverpool, Arsenal

These 3 clubs have dominated all aspects of the game in this country for 40 years, a symbiotic relationship.

Their 'direction' was intended to nullify genuine competition from other ('lesser') clubs.

These clubs have extensive reach in the media and beyond. They are 'glamorous', 'legacy', 'huge', 'fabled', 'cultured'.

ManCity fans have long claimed these red tops will do all they can to discredit them and put them back in the box, but it's proving difficult as City have been to canny, too brilliant, too rich, too damned strong.

Hopefully we (and other clubs) can emulate ManCity but, in the meantime, we can expect ongoing resistance and overarching scrutiny.

That tackle just lit the fuse in the stadium

If anyone should know the danger of doing this, its them. They were clear top of the league and cruising 2-0 up at Anfield last season (April 9) when Xhaka got into some stupid spat that got the crowd going. Liverpool soon got one back and then battered them second half. Arsenal escaped with a draw. They then drew their next two before City hammered them and put it to bed.

Man United correspondent saying that given the state of his lot is wild.

And it's over literally 1 point as well, not 3. All this over 1 point. They all seem to be sidestepping that, presumably because they can't handle the fact that their best 'chance' was Martinelli's tame shot straight at Pope.

It's not 1 point. It was their unbeaten status.

That feels a lot like what happened on Saturday. Everyone in the stadium wanted blood after that tackle and the players fed off it.

Ultimately what this boils down to is that Arsenal and Arsenal fans are horrific losers.

Looking at the goal, the only check they have a leg to stand on with is the challenge from Joelinton, but even then it's far from conclusive and you'd expect the onfield decision to stand in the circumstances.

When pressed, Arteta couldn't explain why the goal shouldn't stand. His rage was completely unjustified and will only embolden the lunatics posting racist messages and wishing career-ending injuries on players. The level of aggression behind the fallout is actually pretty disturbing, particularly given it boils down to a group of fans not being able to handle defeat.

It's also crazy how the interviews just give him a platform to spout off without any real questioning.

No mentioning that they would've only drawn anyway, no pushing him to say why it wasn't a goal, no mention of Havertz' behaviour.

They played a fuller clip on Pod on the Tyne and he actually is pressed a number of times on what he thought the goal should have been disallowed for and avoided answering it.

FWIW this is great isn't it?

Usually a game passes and there's the boring wait until next Saturday. It's Monday now and I'm still consuming fume porn, and we have Dortmund tomorrow

And it's straight after work, none of this waiting until 8pm bollocks
