I like him coming inward from those wider areas better. 

 

Looks a lot more natural and comfortable in those areas.

 

Still a bit too excitable and loose as a central striker.

 

Glad he got two goals. Kind of game he should be able to come in and produce in.

Can't see him upfront now. He's a wide right attacker for the foreseeable. Seemed to calm down there as well.

Like him a lot but starting to feel like the Shola is very strong with this one. He was a good finisher, too.

If we could get striker cover in the January window I’d like him loaned out to a good team in a decent league.
 

He needs development time and I don’t think the odd cup game and a few sub minutes in the league is enough.

 

Theres talent there, strength, speed and  trickery to work with.

You can see he comes alive when he receives the ball to feet out wide, and he then wants to take players on.

 

That instinct works against him when the ball is played into him with his back to goal in tighter areas. Seems to try to do too much too quickly.

 

When used upfront probably want someone playing off him, and he should mostly look to get in behind and down the channels.

Headless chicken as he looks, he very very rarely gives the ball away when he gets it, once he learns to not clatter his man when he has no chance of winning the ball and gets his positioning sorted he'll be a top player, guaranteed

At the very worst, we have a very competent 3rd choice striker/rigth sided inside forward for the next 10 years. Size, pace and flair will always be dangerous despite lacking in other areas.

One concern isn’t so much him it’s his game time. He isn’t going to play here nearly enough for what he needs to develop his game

I don't think he'll ever become a good prem striker but at the same time I can see why Frankfurt are willing to shell £30m on him.

Running style reminds me of Haaland but there the similarity ends☺️

Shola was never quick imo or as mobile. 
 

 

Yesterday he looked like Haaland to me (just messier).  Too big and fast for the opposition and always looking to make hurtful runs in behind.  Still think his game needs seasoning but he was a level above the competition today.  Good game.

Plenty to be encouraged about in that performance. Two goals. Strong, fast. He might miss chances but a lot of the time he gets them through his speed and that sometimes makes them more difficult to convert. Really pleased for him. One of those players you really want to do well.

I think he’s a pretty decent finisher when he gets in a good position, it’s just the smarts to engineer that space or situation that still needs a lot of work.
