Colwill has done his ACL, he will probably end up at Chelsea now.

At least we are safe from the Chelsea Child catcher our centre halfs are the wrong side of 30

Parish trying to generate a sale before the window closes and he loses him to Liverpool for free next year.

I'd slap a no nonsense £40m offer in valid for 24 hours and have both him and Thaiw come in. Schar is on his last legs and will need replacing next year so we just bring it forward and disrupt Liverpools plans a bit.

Then if he turns us down as he wants Liverpool we look like even bigger fools.

Think we have been burnt too much to try that plus we don't need him now.

With an attitude like that, we will never sign anybody of the upper calibre.

I kind of hope no one buys him now so Parish realises how much he fucked up last summer.

To be fair to him, they won their first ever trophy by knocking us back and are in Europe in some form or the other. I don't think PL teams necessarily need the big money sales these days with the amount of money from TV. He'll feel vindicated in the end.

I honestly couldn't care less how others perceive us with regards to getting rejected. If you don't try you don't get. And a few players we thought were out of reach might surprise us and be interested if we go for it. Cannot approach transfers with a fear of getting rejected.

I think we might have already made contact with Guehi reps and they've told us he's either going to wind his contract down or he's not interested, which is why we've gone in for Thiaw.

100%.

Wharton will be going for circa £100m next summer too, so they can afford to ride the loss. Might be a reason to why they’re not spending much this summer as the Guehi fee isn’t there, which will piss off Glasner and likely make up his mind he wants off as soon as the first good job becomes available but they have an FA Cup and Europe, something they’ve never had before in their history.

This is just Palace taking a last shot at extorting Liverpool for a fee. We would have no chance of getting him anyway.

We’ve got our CB now so time to relax and see where the chips fall.

Shows Forests DOF had a good idea - they were strongly linked with Glasner before Santo came in. Both have done well.

Bodes well for us.

Said this in another thread. The PL money train clubs aren't in desperate need of money from player sales. They don't need the money to avoid relegation.

Financial fair play has done an amazing job of cooking the game.

Maybe unlikely, but I'd still like us to make a late move for Guehi, if the fee doesn't get stupid again like last summer, even with the one year left

Not sure which footed Guehi is, so this mightn't work, but just thought with Schar and Burn potentially in the last year(s) with us, having Botman, Thiaw and Guehi as first choice centre backs future proofs those positions for a few years, and could allow Botman to be rested to not aggravate his injuries.

As I say, not fully up on each players preferred position, so might be too right footed if Botmans out, and such like.

Also think moving for Guehi this summer could force Liverpools hand to either go for him now and use more funds that they might have been holding back for and Isak offer, or let him go and hold those funds.

Think if we could do a deal for £45-50m tops, I'd go for it.
