Thats probably the best 45 mins we have been playing this season, considering it’s Man City

 

We probably deserves a draw, yet I know we can’t

Don't want to judge Tonali too much as we've thrown him in against Man City but he just doesn't get involved enough in or out of possession. It was exactly the same in all his games last year.

 

I still don't think he was the right fit for an Eddie team

Think the best we can hope for 2nd half is to get a lucky break (like that Joelinton chance) where we score, and we can get some fresh legs on to keep counter going in final 20.

The defending was absolutely shite for their goal. Trippier rushing in and Burn getting turned so easily. So frustrating as played well

Can't really complain at that first half. Performance wise been a lot better than last few games. Few sloppy passes and individual mistakes, but looking much more coherent.

think Howe has set the team up well but still too many of our players slightly off it, too sloppy at times

Playing well but hardly threatning and look to lack belif that we can beat them, hoping for a better 2nd half.

You can clearly see where we've copied Arsenal 's shape as we get to our box defending, albeit they were 5-4-0, and we're 5-4-1 when deep. Big Joe drops furtherest left to make it 5 across the back.  Narrowed it up and it gives them nowt into feet, except the goal. That one little lapse, it's why they're the best, but i think we've been decent.

Performance was OK which was expected really, always more motivated against the top sides.

 

Seemed to lose it a bit when City scored, confidence fell through the floor.
