NEEJ
I can't believe it's already been a year. We just turned up, man. I remember getting to my seat and it immediately felt different to the Man Utd final. The fans were on song and the Wor Flags display was absolutely epic. There was an early tackle that really set the tone (from Trippier I think) and calmed my nerves. Burn's header was a moment of utter disbelief and came at the perfect time. What a header, man. It's a real shame that the rat did what he did, because what an experience that second goal was. Bodies everywhere - I thought the old bloke next to me had perished! The game management from 2-0 onwards was right out of the top drawer and there was some exceptional shithousery thrown in to achieve this. Sandro's laces and Joe's clothesline were particular highlights. Chiesa's consolation goal made the full-time whistle all the sweeter. Easier to say with the benefit of hindsight, like. At full time it was incredibly emotional and all I could manage were repeated cries of "YES, MAN!" without breaking down and bubbling. Our end singing Seventeen Going Under in unison will live with me forever, and I still well up when I think about it. I still feel incredibly grateful to have been there and experienced it in person, stood next to my brother, and knowing my dad was stood at the other end of our half. It's the main reason why I think I'll back Eddie until he decides he's had enough. This was his doing, and he's immortalised himself and his players in our Club's story. HTL! Superior Acuña
Even before kick off it felt different to the 2023 one. The feeling when we were ahead was so strange and unfamilliar. But I couldn't let myself truely believe til the second went in. The fact it was so soon after the disallowed one made it really feel like we'll do enough (disallowed? no bother, here's another). Superior Acuña
Nights like Barca this week I sometimes end up torturing myself imagining if they’d got a second in stoppage time. Just imagine how would we have been able to go on?
SUPERTOON
Going to rewatch all the content from this when i get in. What a day it was.
Stifler
Watching the reaction after the match. You have Bruno from Brazil who 5 years ago wouldn’t have known what a Newcastle was now with Geordie kids and in tears of winning a trophy. You have Shay Given, an Irish farmers son who’s loving it just as much as the fans. You have Sam Fenders name on every NUFC shirt that was on the pitch as we won a trophy. We might and hopefully will win more trophies in future, but will it mean as much to the players then as it did a year ago? Will Eddie Howe take a holiday and go to Budapest? nemtizz
Not a single one of us would have cared how we won it in the end but the fact it was a 10/10 performance made it so much sweeter. Nothing will ever match that feeling again.

Nothing will ever match that feeling again. Against the best team in the country at the time, at full-strength (other than Kelleher), who visibly tried as well. We just outplayed them. It was beautiful. Edited March 16 by Optimistic Nut

Like how Andy Cole is looked back on fondly again after being a bit of a hate figure for the, "Cheer up Kevin Keegan" chants. Is he? When did that happen? Hovagod
I wasn’t at the Man Utd final, and deliberately got in after the national anthem for this one, so my first feeling of ‘this just feels right’ was looking down to the bottom tier right on kick off with them jumping around going daft. Things just felt aligned in that moment. I remember at some point in the first half turning to my mate and saying that we were actually playing really well. Maggies
Agree with everything being said. Even reading some of the replies to this thread today have sent shivers. Greatest day of my life. Burn’s header being the greatest moment. Walked past several people in floods of tears just at half time. But feeling like we’ve got this now. Tears then flowed at full time - but equally just wanted to stay in that moment forever and soak it all in. Travelling home the next day like we had been victorious at war. Feeling a buzz still on the streets of Newcastle. Topped off wonderfully with the trophy parade. Beautiful.

oldtype
For what it's worth I don't think we need to be that concerned about no accomplishment ever feeling as good as this one. Winning one of the "big" ones (PL or CL) for the first time will probably hit just as hard, if not harder.

QBG
Fun day looking back at all the clips. Will never forget that day as long as I live. Had lost my job a couple of weeks prior, and the emotion of everything just poured out at full-time. Watched the trophy lift with my daughter on my shoulders. Magic. Turnbull2000
We were on a weekend break away for the match. Didn't even cross my mind we could be in a final yet again when it was booked. Luckily we found a pub with the game on. By about the 20th minute, I started to believe this might not be the usual Wembo 2-0 defeat. We were the fucking superior team! Was struggling to cope when they got the goal. Had to go and stand outside, looking back at the TV through the window. My wife's abiding memory is of me getting further away until I was across the god damn street. Doubt anything will ever come close to that ever again.
