Looks like a fantastic buy to me, hope we get him. AFCON aside he ticks a lot of boxes for us and contrary to some of the drivel being spouted it shows a sensible transfer strategy: miss out on the high ceiling, low age players on our list and pivot to a cheaper sure thing for the position.

Fingers crossed they can get it wrapped up and let’s see who they fancy for the high ceiling RCB.

Wissa seems like a very sound option if we can get it done. 2 or 3 good seasons from him and he'd still have some value after that.

Strikers are always the most expensive players and at £30-£40m that would be a bargain, especially as it's the one area we have little to no cover. Chuck in Osula for the odd 30 mins here and there or in cup games and we're definitely stronger than last season.

A new CB and midfielder and we're ready to go. It's not an ideal squad as you'd want a keeper too, but we're not able to have ideal. We haven't lost much with the players who have gone, but we've definitely gained with Elanga so far.

Who are Brentford signing? Their forward line being ripped up.

Potentially £100m+ burning a hole in their pocket. McAtee/Dibling for RW. Could hijack Roma’s move for Ferguson. Wilson on a free. I know he’s been linked with us but Rudoni from Cov to replace Norgaard.

They already signed his replacement last season but he was injured virtually all season.

I would be honest, he is only fine, and why we should go for him now is because we have been fucking shit last 60 days. We have close to no options left.

He seems like the absolute top level of player that Liverpool or Chelsea or Man United wouldn't immediately jump in to steal from us. So more or less exactly the level of player we should be targeting.

I think the fact we have Isak (fingers crossed) is also a key factor. We need a rotation option and for me Wissa is excellent for that bracket.

19 goals and 4 assists in the Premier League for an ordinary Brentford team.

"He's only fine ..."

We sold Minteh, who hadn’t kicked a ball in the league, for around what were being quoted for one of the most lethal strikers in the league last year.

He's the highest level of backup striker you could land. We're talking a player who knows he will be backup to Isak but accepts that and is more than good enough to stake his own claim for the starting spot when he plays in cup games etc as Isak will absolutely need rotating in the league at times also.

Only Salah scored more non-pen goals than Wissa last season. Just that sentence on repeat... till he signs for Spurs.

After 55 minutes in every game for example.

Ideally we would have Wissa as 2nd choice & sign another Osula type & have him as 3rd choice. This would then allow Osula to go out on loan for a season to play regularly and learn his trade a bit, it would possible knock some of the rawness out of him.

Another favourite of mine regarding the signing of both he and Elanga is "underwhelming"

We finished 5th last season and if this plays out right, we will have added two players that between them had 25 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League last year.

They both managed this at clubs that weren't as good as Newcastle, and so they will be surrounded by better players and playing for a better manager this time around.

It's quite an exciting prospect for me personally. For others not so much I guess.

Don’t know why he says ‘approach them again’ when we’re clearly just negotiating a deal. Swear these people still think the fax machine is the main transfer communication channel.
