Desperate for the pay cheque - It is no different to Isak - who was happy to sign a new contracts 12 months ago but now eyes a bumper pay cheque.  It's all about the money.

Well you could argue it's probably his last chance to play for a big club and in the CL, and footballers do tend to want that.

Two situations are completely different:

Case A:

Players ducks friendlies with injury (in pain but scans clear)

Player ducks tour with aforesaid injury

Player fucks off to train in Spain without permission.

Media circus ensues (probably a directed circus)

Player states want's to explore options.

Media circus intensifies.

Player states via 3rd parties wants to leave for Liverpool.

Liverpool lowball offer.

Player goes on strike.

Player issues me, me, me, statement.

Case B:

Player comes to understanding with club (evidenced in writing allegedly) to explore options.

Player identifies new club and club makes "fair" offer.

Brentford reject offer/raise price.

Player throws toys from pram and quits training camp.

Further offer received/rebuffed and Brentford state nothing possible until replacement sourced.

Player resumes training with team.

Replacement acquired.

Further offer made - rebuffed because "oh we didn't mean THAT replacement".

Player still training.

Brentford quote thoroughly ridiculous asking price.

Player still training.

Player issues respectful (to club and fans) and detailed statement.

Just utterly incomparable, player shits on a club v club shits on player.

You forgot the Facebook mum strop of deleting every mention and photo relating to Brentford from his social media [emoji38]

It's at its lowest ebb for me.

It’s barely even fun now. I’ve seen more footage and comment on two VAR decisions than I’ve seen goals this weekend.

Everything in football is PSR related. Selling players is about profit and book value, buying players is about resale value. 29 year olds are as good as on the scrap heap for clubs worrying about PSR

Clubs buying and swapping clubs with sister clubs

this window has been exhausting. It used to be fun buying & selling players

prices for tickets, kits etc are thru the roof

and even the CL draw was contrived game show shite

Don't want him. His club wants to keep him and they're entitled to do so as per the conditions of his contract.

What he's done here is no different to Isak, behaviour that we should have nothing to do with.

£65 Million for a 29 year old (nearly) even if he had 3 years left on his contract is an unreasonable ask IMO but with 10 months left it's outrageous..

He doesn’t have ten months. He has a year and ten months.

The shit Chelsea are pulling is also properly grim. They're not even a club anymore, just a stable of assets. How anyone can support that I don't know.

I've been banging on about it for ages, so I won't bore everyone with my ramblings again.

But the capitalisation of the game has completely fucked it. Fans have less accessibility than ever, then when they do watch, have to endure a competition ran by a cartel of investment managers and have their match day experience ruined by referees.  Burn it down and start again please.

I can’t remember exactly, but did Gordon do the same at Everton (downing tools) before joining us?

I vaguely recall him doing something that made our fans question his actions.

Yes, but went under the radar a bit because he joined us a few days later

What a bellend.

Hope we do the same to Isak. A reasonable offer is what the selling club decides, it's that simple.

Well, not really. Market value, taking into account contract length, has to influence what a ‘reasonable’ offer is. Fair market value is probably a better phrase, but it still has a deal of subjectivity in it also.

But aye, summer of statements is fucking rank. Some of the most privileged people on the planet and they’re acting like utter cunts. They need to remember how fucking good they’ve got it.

This is just a new evolution of football agent tactics as far as I am concerned. Football clubs have complained about their antics for decades now, it's just evolved to a more sophisticated and obnoxious stage with this sort of behaviour.

It is what the selling club, not Wissa, deem ‘reasonable’ and that number surely only goes up the later into the window it goes?
