If it still takes a season to get up to speed even with experience from the league then we may as well buy from abroad and give them the same time to get adjusted. Not sure why it would do that like. If he had had a full pre-season and not fucked up his knee then it would maybe have some merit to it.
TRC
How does loaning a player out count for PSR? Do you still take the amortisation hit that year or is it offset by the loan fee?
Newcastle Fan
As much as he annoys me i would still start him vs Chelsea, we can't just not use him until the end of the season and i'd rather its that game than Barcelona or Sunderland.
Fenham Mag
He's been called up by DRC for their WC playoff.
Mattoon
We won't be selling Wissa any time soon, his age, price and likely return means it would cost us more in financial terms to jettison him now. I think Woltemade might make way in the summer, he's still young enough and hopefully has a quality World Cup where teams come begging, I love the guy, he's clearly massively talented, Im just not sure how he fits into NUFC or even the PL. Wissa will get his chance and he will come good.

We’ll have the same issue the following year though. Although break even would be less. Selling him in the summer would be a one time big hit to PSR. Might be worth taking if Howe and club don’t believe in him.

Smal
Not for UEFA’s FFP though. Any related party transfer income doesn’t count at all. It’s the PL’s where there’s a fair market value check on them iirc .

The College Dropout
His book value is more than he’s worth too imo Due to age he was a £40m signing tops.

I don’t know the details but they don’t do ‘FMV’, maybe it’s just book value I’m not sure. There is a 'no profit' rule which means you can only count the book value towards SCR when selling a player to a related party. That was my understanding and I just checked with AI and it agrees with me (but AI is dodgy so could be wrong). So under SCR we should be able to still sell him for 40m or so to a Saudi club. McCormick
Rough start, sure, but he’ll be fine.

Boey_Jarton
He can be sold at book value to a related party with no adjustments from an FFP/SCR perspective providing that the transfer fee is deemed FMV. And since the book value is itself a function of an arms length transaction between two unrelated parties (i.e. a proxy for FMV) in a transaction that only took place a few months ago, it would be easily justifiable, despite Wissa's ridiculous fee. If PIF were looking to bend the rules in our favour, this is an obvious area they could exploit. I.e. buying experienced players that might otherwise have limited resale value but then selling to Saudi at book value after 2-3 years if required. Wallsendmag
Loving the optimism of those who say he'll be fine as I've seen zero evidence so far to agree with that. Pushing 30 and already looks like he can barely move. Appeared totally disinterested for a lot of his time on the pitch. Looks a bit overweight as well which is disgraceful for a Premier League footballer. At least with Woltemade he looked good when he first came and you can't knock his attitude and effort. Even Elanga has shown signs that there's a bit of a rough diamond that just needs polished up a bit as we seen on Tuesday night. Just seen nowt at all with this lad and it's slightly worrying at a time when he should be getting fitter and fitter now that he's getting less and less time on the pitch.
