Shite behaviour IF true

Games going to hell in a handcart

Perfect, if he doesn’t do this we don’t get a striker. Brentford should let him have his dream move tbf.

I wonder if Brentford insist on 60 million or so and we end up paying it, if a couple of years down the line we do actually finally play the Saudi card and sell him there for 50 million. I'm definitely not endorsing this, more surprised at the fact it hasn't been done more e.g. Wilson leaving in January just gone for 5 million.

I think Saudi sees the club more as a financial investment rather than purely a vehicle for influence, prestige and sport washing. This would in some way explain their restraint in not doing this sooner, as it would encourage reckless spending which would make it less likely them would see a return on their investment.  However, I can see them being frustrated at how the club, and by association them, has been messed around this summer and that might lead them to changing tact in this case.

Typing all this out is a bit depressing as it reminds you what Saudi ownership has in some ways reduced the club to. A fecking commodity to be bought and sold. That's an oversimplification but it's certainly true to a point.

We already have arguably the best striker in the world

Who is also possibly the biggest cunt to of ever pulled a shirt on for us

Both him & Wissa are absolute twats imo, no difference between the pair of them

We are gonna have to overpay for this guy now. Give them £50m for him and keep Isak in the reserves.

We absolutely cannot be going into this season with Gordon and Osula as strikers. If we do then this season is over before it even begins.

The whole ‘refusal to play’ bullshit just shows what spoiled children most of these cunts are.  You’re being asked to play football for 90 mins - it’s hardly a big fucking ask.  It’s shite how he’s treated Brentford and this all seems miles away from the supposed ‘no dickheads’ policy.

It's true that he's back in training this week, isn't it? Like Isak, his behaviour has been unprofessional and you don't like to see anyone disrespecting their club, but the context is pretty different, like, and seemingly so are his actions.

Brentford have made it clear that they're not interested in progress; they sell to survive and had no succession plan for Frank that anyone would consider ambitious. Meanwhile Wissa himself is approaching the point where his better days are behind him; there's the supposed gentleman's agreement; and the matter of only one guaranteed year on his contract.

There's also the point that Brentford to Newcastle is a helluva leap and a much bigger jump than Newcastle to Liverpool, who we literally beat to honours last season, and stole a Champions League place from two years back.

I wish players would submit transfer requests but that just doesn't happen these days. It's a shame he's behaved the way that he has but it seems slightly more 'proportionate' than Isak's actions.

That's got to be the 8th or 9th time in the last two weeks I've heard a journalist say that the Wissa deal will be done or moving forward in the next 24hrs. It's astonishing how wrong they can be so often in such a short space of time.

A transfer request can still be rejected. The agitating to leave without doing one is purely financial and just a level of greed.

Yeah. Probably why we'll never see one made again.

Urgh, it's frustrating. I really want us to sign the guy but it's rubbish he's gone about it in this way.

I still think it's a lot more understandable to be dying to get out of Brentford as opposed to being dying to get out of Newcastle. One of those clubs is just treading water every year while the other is in the CL and trying to progress.

But the refusing to play thing is undeniably shitty.

I get all that. For me the difference is the person that promised Isak anything is no longer here where as thevperson who promised Wissa is still at his club.

I just think if I worked somewhere and a manager verbally promised me something then left I couldn't really kick off if a new manager said no to it.

Let’s not pretend the ‘promises’ are anything to do with Isaks behaviour. He’s using it as an excuse because he wants to go to Liverpool.

I don’t think the Wissa situation is the same personally. He’s still training, he’s nearly 29 and it’s probably his last big chance to play for a club of our stature and in the CL. It also does sound like he had an actual agreement he could leave to a CL club for €30m. If he was shit, Brentford would get rid of him.

Exactly this. There is very little comparison with Wissa's situation & Isak's.

If he did this in Ashley years would we feel the same way?

Genuine question

See our reaction at the time to Given, Owen, Jose Enrique, Andy Carroll, Ba, Cabaye, Remy, Sissoko Stances changed with hindsight but most were fucked off at the time.
