Are clubs trying to reverse the ‘player power’ mentality ?

Isak’s behaviour and Newcastle’s response.

Guehi’s behaviour and Palace’ response.

Wissa’s behaviour and Brentford’s response.

And so they should.

This Isak soap opera drama could be a sliding doors moment for the future of players contracts, what they mean, who has the power, length of contracts and so on.

I'm getting really fucking bored of this saga and I'm finding it harder and harder to defend his actions, especially with all that's going on with our own club. Yes, I know the circumstances are slightly different but the principal is the same.

If Brentford really want to charge us 50m+ for a 28 year old in the last year of his deal, fine, it's their prerogative, he's their player and the way they're going, he could be the difference between survival and relegation.

I guess we then go all in on Jackson, at least Chelsea are willing sellers if nothing else.

I personally don't want Wissa after his carry on this summer. His and Isak's petulance should never be rewarded. Move on to another target.

Woah...steady on. Another target...in two weeks? Dont want Nickson breaking a hip, or Andy Howe having to actually do something. Imagine the stress youre putting on AR? He might actually have to answer the phone and make a decision.

I know these guys are pro, but theyre only human

Beggars can't be choosers.

I'll take him regardless of him displaying the same antics as Isak. Doesn't seem to be any other PL proven option around. Even if Isak stays we need someone who can challenge for his place.

Maybe Jackson can work along with Isak, but it's not like he has his head screwed on the way we prefer either.

Don't want him. Downing tools is not cool. Hypocritical.

Jackson please.

Brentford are well within their right to stand firm and good for them.

I'll absolutely take him if we can get a deal done. But we need to make a decision right now whether this is actually realistic, otherwise we have to move on, a Wilson replacement should already have been done IMO, it's the big transfer failure of the summer so far.

Their situations are incomparable, both have acted badly but the circumstances are fundamentally different, one has shit on his club the other has been shit on BY his club.

Demanding £60 Mill for a 29 year old in last year of his contract, up from £30/40/50 Mill.

You can go when we sign a replacement, get replacement, oh not that replacement we meant a different one oh and we're adding £20 Mill on your price.

If a deals to be done, sign him up.

We can't choose to believe the media regarding Wissa and have a completely different approach about Isak like, both have been utter wankers to the clubs that have given them a platform to perform. If we wasn't desperate I wouldn't want him here.

I think you’ll find we’re football fans and we can be as contradictory as we like…

Isak has been training too… just not at the same time as the first team.

The situations are near identical and I don’t see the point in doing mental gymnastics to try and justify Wissa’s actions.

I’d much prefer we just avoided any player pulling this kind of shit.

I don't think it's mental gymnastics pointing out the contextual differences but if he's refusing to play then obviously that is the same and not ideal. If it was June 1st I'd be wanting us to look elsewhere.
