Older members may remember right-back Malcolm Brown who signed from Huddersfield in the summer of 1983. He hadn’t missed a game for five years. 
 

A couple of days into pre-season training he fell awkwardly whilst performing a routine loosening up exercise and ruptured an achilles tendon. He was out virtually the whole season.

And Kevin Carr was out after walking through a plate glass door. Its a Newcastle thing I tells ya !
