Well Howe says he came back yesterday, as for the injury just off a lad I know who sometimes gets some injury news. He’s been reliable in the past but who knows

Hopefully he’s the same fella who said Gordon did his ACL too.

I don't think it's misguided optimism because I'm not saying Gordon will lace Isak or Wissa's boots. But against Villa his play from that position wrought a red card from their CB, and he was fantastic against Liverpool until the moment of madness. The lad has a significant amount of raw talent so I wouldn't rank turning him into a competent CF as Howe's greatest ever challenge, like.

He’s busy and makes some intelligent movements at times. But he isn’t a natural finisher at all, he never strikes a ball that well. I don’t think his passing or link up play are up to much and he is crap in the air.

He just isn’t a striker. He needs to get back to form on the left somehow. As he has been off it for a good while now IMO.

All this ACL talk, hopefully get some positive news early next week once he's saw the specialist!

Has anyone ever needed to go to a specialist and it’s actually been fine?

Again, I'm not saying I expect him to be brilliant (you'll see my initial post on this started with "absolute disaster if true"). I just said I think Gordon will take responsibility, and I have some optimism that he can grow into the role if he plays it a lot. Clearly he needs to improve certain aspects, not to mention his discipline.

Don't agree that he has fundamental ball-striking limitations. He's no Barnes and favours the timid placed shot too often, but he's scored some pearlers for us too.

Eddie's comments didn't scream suspected ACL like but that may just be copium [emoji38]

The problem with that is Eddie's comments hardly ever scream anything. There's no point ever trying to get a read on him.

Can't blame the club but it would be fair to say that it would set the position I already had on selling Isak this summer in stone.

Yeah instead of having an injured striker, we would have one on permanent strike.

Oh. Wait...

Really think the lesson would be that we should have intervened to prevent him playing anything more than very limited minutes on international duty after no preseason. Hard to think that didn't greatly increase his susceptibility to injury.

How feasible it actually is for clubs to do that I don't know.

If there’s discomfort in his knee, a long flight from Africa wouldn’t have been ideal but bit limited what we could do.

I’d say best case scenario it doesn’t need surgery and it’s strained the ligaments with some swelling. Out similar length to Ramsey.

Hope it’s wrong but also heard it’s an ACL injury - would be absolutely typical NUFC this mind - please be wrong
