Pretty poor to gloat on another club's forum Froggy. Just enjoy your new signing man. It's the grown up thing to do.

It's hardly gloating to say that I think both projects are appealing.

Not sure it’s much of a gloat tbh. People seem quite touchy when another fan dares comment. He’s hardly Goldburg.

It's as underhand a gloat as you're likely to see. Everybody knows you're a massive club ffs. If in a shit state. If you think players are signing for your "project" you're kidding yourself. It's because you're the famous Man Utd and getting loads of wages. That's all that seems to matter to the modern pro. Sesko is coming from a Champions League side to no European football for possibly 2 years. Where's the ambition there?

Froggy doesn't even sound that convinced about the signing, he was slagging him off a week ago, telling us Rasmus was the better bet.

Well I never said those words exactly. I do like Hojlund and think he can be a success though.

I would just rather we spent this sort of money on an energetic midfielder, as I think that's a bigger concern.

There's a lot of risk involved with Sesko and zero guarantees he hits the ground running. Huge fee I think, and I'm uneasy about it.

Touchy???? Fkn hell, did you read his post.

Amorim this and Amorim that. That's fkn touchy. Not sure he needs defending either. He's a big boy.

I think Hojland would be awesome for us away from the Man U environment

In the last 3 years Man U have won a Carabao Cup, an FA cup and been in a European Cup final. And that's when they're at their shittest basically.

Last three years we've won a Carabao Cup for our most successful season in over half a century.

They're a better known and more prestigous club with way more money than we do. It would hardly be surprising if he picked Man U over us, lack of European football aside this year.

I doubt he grew up dreaming of the year both Ba and Cisse were in red hot form for half a season and we finished fifth.

They were better known than Blackburn but didn't stop Shearer and Sutton going to Blackburn for the money, they were better known that Chelsea and Man City when players bombed them out to go there. Its all about the money.

I'm not gloating man. I like to have a bit of a laugh but gloating isn't my thing.

Call me a fool but I think players will be attracted to our project. Same goes for Newcastle.

Yes we're a big club, and yes you'll get good money at us, but I think there's a huge appeal to be part of the team that gets us back into contention.

We apparently set a 24 hour deadline, 72 hours ago.

Don’t think it’s cut and dry how this one ends, but agree it’s looking shaky.

All I can add after chatting with a few people today is that all the talk of Man Utd being his perceived “preferred destination” is coming from Man Utd’s end. That’s what Man Utd are briefing to the media. It was suggested to me (not definitively, but more speculative), that the reason they might be briefing that is so that if he joins NUFC, they can save face and claim it’s purely a financial deal they couldn’t do… that the player wanted to join them but it was taken out of their hands due to us offering over the odds. I find that notion a bit weird, but just passing it on.

Both Leipzig and Sesko’s camp are communicating, at least to NUFC (and it seems a couple of journalists have picked up on it), that he doesn’t have a preference, likes both projects and would be happy to sign for either.

I think, from the NUFC end, we may make one last attempt to force the issue (whether that’s an additional fee, clause, extra wages or something, I don’t know), but other than that, it’s literally a wait and see what Leipzig and Sesko’s final decision actually is. I’d personally be very surprised if Leipzig just accepted both deals… there doesn’t appear to be any reason for them to do that.
