work with a dude that is punching above his weight, won a trophy for the first time in 55 years, got CL qualification, and is now famous for drastically improving players.

Or work for a dude who took a legendary club and gave them their worst season in the modern era.

This game is now soulless.

The club has long been aware that the player prefers a move to Manchester—if they decide to fully commit. That €5 million gap could be interpreted as a “discount,” reflecting Šeško’s personal preference. Now the question is whether RB Leipzig are willing to honor that preference with a discount of their own.

A player with self respect and belief in their own ability would choose us. A player chasing money will go to Man U.

Here we go! Player ONLY wanted United.

Unfortunately the "legendary club" element still holds a lot of weight though, probably more so to foreign players who have little investment in the PL. Sesko may see it that he has the chance to be the player that turns around their fortunes and becomes a legend there.

Whether we like it or not, being a Manchester United legend is still a huge deal in modern football. We are in the unfortunate position of having to compete with clubs like them and Liverpool who have long-established "Elite" status, without being allowed to use our financial muscle to compensate. It's little wonder that it has been a borderline impossible task this summer.

What annoys me about transfers, and this is all transfers not just Newcastle, is how long it takes to agree a fee with the clubs.

Now this obviously will be too simplistic but one knows how much they want and the other knows how much can or are willing to pay.

Set up a meeting and decide it there and then. In reality it should take 15 mins max. But eveyone pisses about taking days or even weeks to respond.

Whilst I understand that things have to be signed off and agreed but before the meeting the top brass surely can say don’t accept under x amount and don’t go over x amount and anything within those boundaries can be acceptable straight away.

Even payment structures and bonuses both received and given should be agreed by both parties hierarchy before meeting.

"Manchester United’s strategy seems clear"

[emoji38] seems, so you're just making shit up Jan?

I would assume Man Utd have a plan and his assumptions may be close to the mark, but I don't buy this daft narrative that we're so silly and naive and are been taken for a ride here. It sounds fantastical.

I hope we have started negotiation with other options. Would be great to pull out and announce Ramos

One deal at a time please - you know the drill

Said this a few times this summer, I'm sure most people must realise it deep down. We've got a lot of catching up to do to build a legacy like Man U and Liverpool have over the last 30 years.

Think whether I want this all hinges on whether the alternative is to do the unthinkable and still try and get Ramos or Jackson plus Wissa in if this fails, then sell Isak. If that's the case then I hope Sesko chooses us and saves us from ourselves

If the alternative is to go with saying tough luck to Isak and getting Wissa then I'm okay with him choosing Man United and I'll be pleased that our inability to close a deal has saved us from ourselves.

Used to watch Jan on ESPNFC when it aired on TNT Sport. Always came across as a fan of us. Don’t know what changed with him.

Cartel Grift Engagement numbers are better.

What's happened, in short? Man United have made a bid, is that it?

They've bid 5m under us and both bids have apparently been accepted. Sesko has also accepted both offers from the club's (apparently) so journalists are filling in the blanks that he's chose Man Utd. None of it makes any sense and there's probably a lot of shit behind closed doors we're missing

Fjortoft's getting right up the crack of my arse now. Rims elite clubs like he played - dirty, tongue out in celebration and ultimately irrelevant because there's plenty better.

agreed. If this was our first time back in the Champions League, then I'd say "well, of course." But Howe has gotten us into the CL 2 out of the 3 full seasons he has been here. And he got that dog shit team that he inherited into CL form by the end of the 21/22 season. At this point, it should suggest that this guy is not fluking it at all. He's taking inferior teams on paper and is going toe to toe with the cartel clubs. Any player courted by us should be well aware of that.
