Spare a thought for all those poor staff that got laid off because Man Utd were in financial ruin and would have been out of business by last November. Wonder how they feel seeing all the money getting spent.

Touchy???? Fkn hell, did you read his post.

Amorim this and Amorim that. That's fkn touchy. Not sure he needs defending either. He's a big boy.

He praised a manager who had a pretty good record and reputation before Man Utd. It’s hardly out of order. I know people get upset at missed targets but no need to take hissy fits.

Both Leipzig and Sesko’s camp are communicating, at least to NUFC (and it seems a couple of journalists have picked up on it), that he doesn’t have a preference, likes both projects and would be happy to sign for either.

He’s sounds like me when my wife suggests a couple of different takeaways for dinner and I tell her to just choose.

make a fucking choice man

Don’t think it’s cut and dry how this one ends, but agree it’s looking shaky.

All I can add after chatting with a few people today is that all the talk of Man Utd being his perceived “preferred destination” is coming from Man Utd’s end. That’s what Man Utd are briefing to the media. It was suggested to me (not definitively, but more speculative), that the reason they might be briefing that is so that if he joins NUFC, they can save face and claim it’s purely a financial deal they couldn’t do… that the player wanted to join them but it was taken out of their hands due to us offering over the odds. I find that notion a bit weird, but just passing it on.

I think, from the NUFC end, we may make one last attempt to force the issue (whether that’s an additional fee, clause, extra wages or something, I don’t know), but other than that, it’s literally a wait and see what Leipzig and Sesko’s final decision actually is. I’d personally be very surprised if Leipzig just accepted both deals… there doesn’t appear to be any reason for them to do that.

The point regarding them saving face could have some merit, makes no sense from Leipzig point of view to accept 10 million Euro less.

It’s astounding how pig headed some online Man U fans actually are about this. I would feel very very uneasy if Newcastle were spending money on already very very wealthy individuals whilst crying poverty and laying off staff.

I'm not gloating man. I like to have a bit of a laugh but gloating isn't my thing.

Call me a fool but I think players will be attracted to our project. Same goes for Newcastle.

Yes we're a big club, and yes you'll get good money at us, but I think there's a huge appeal to be part of the team that gets us back into contention.

Fair enough. But the last thing I'd do if we'd just beaten you to a transfer target is go on to a Man U forum to comment. Just me though obviously. I do hope he falls and breaks his leg at the unveiling though. 😉

I’m fine with him preferring ManU, in isolation. It’s the cumulative effect of several failures to get who we want this summer (bar Elanga), plus Isak wanting away, that’s kind of a kick in the teeth.

Plus I actually have toothache.

"I genuinely don't care where you send me, totally up to you" seems like the weirdest preference for a player to have.

Not really, when you’re choosing between two great projects (for different reasons). Joining NUFC and MUFC are both excellent opportunities for any player in his position.

Froggy's here so much that he's part of the furniture though. Pretty much one of us. He just has really shit taste when it comes to sports clubs.

The logic behind Leipzig accepting less is that they are probably happy with both offers. Would they prefer the Newcastle offer? Yes, but 90 vs 85 mil euros are both above their valuation and if the player says he prefers Manu then they might just be forced to accept that.

Id bet the delay is probably Leipzig threatening Manu that they have a better offer, and Manu banking on the fact the player will push that they take thier offer.

I doubt Manu will back out of the deal over 5 million euros. They're just trying to get a bit of a discount if possible

Of course it's weird! Just because I like both job offers doesn't mean I'd tell my current employer "hey, why don't you pick."

You'd still want to think over the pros and cons and pick for yourself.

I know, he's generally sound. Just disagreed with his response to a post. No biggie. 😃

I feel like I need to make something clear. I don't "go on here" to do anything. I live here. Don't ask me how it happened.
