They’re both great.

I know both really well. (Twenty years in Gateshead & Jesmond; twenty years in Northenden and Didsbury). Newcastle is much smaller but perfectly formed and has everything you want plus much easier access to the coast. Manchester is bigger, vibrant and has lots of nice surrounding areas and nice suburbs in the South of the city and nearby. Both have lots of nice countryside nearby.
As a footballer neither has many places to hide (London on other must be easier to say anonymous for a variety of reasons). So no benefit ‘gold fish bowl’ wise of Manchester.

Do prefer Newcastle, think it offers a better overall quality of life and well, I am a proud Geordie, so I would wouldn’t I?

the way this window is going it just feels likely we’re probably being used to draw a bid out from Man U

Yea, Man Utd wanting €65m, nah it’s €75m as Newcastle have offered that.

Question is, is this the clubs intended Wilson replacement, or Isak replacement?

Desperately trying to tell myself its obviously the latter, which it obviously is - but imagine....

If I had to guess I'd say we've had it through intermediaries that Sesko/his agent are sick of waiting for Man U to get their shit together and, whilst they still won't say they're committing one way or another, if a bid goes in from us they're happy to proceed. Part of me does worry that we're being played to smoke out a Man U bid.

I mean it’s Wilson replacement in squad, but it would provide us a position of strength where we can use Isak as a bench option as punishment. Liverpool do offer us £150m+, we’d be more willing to sell and probably go for someone like Wissa.

The Wilson replacement.

We need a second 9 because Isak can't manage a full 90 especially with the amount of games we have coming up.

Sesko spends the year getting up to speed and then that becomes the time to let Isak go, and probably for much more than we get this summer.

You’d think we wouldn’t bid without the green light from the player, though we could be getting played of course.

This is the only thing I believe at the moment

Didsbury is bloody wonderful mind. Went to uni in Manchester (2013-2018). Was back there recently for my MA and it’s still a fantastic place to live, lots going on. 45 mins to the Peak District as well which is great.

I grew up in Northumberland, love it up here and would agree that I prefer Newcastle. Only slightly though.

Ideally both.

Wilson replacement this season, give him 12 months to get used to Howe and the Premier League without having to shoulder the burden of being the primary focal point.

Next season we try to lure PSG or Bayern to enter the bidding, flog Isak off to the continent and get a veteran back up.

I do think if Sesko comes, Liverpool will be back in with a bid and he will go.

Alreet happiness.

Can we not just try to enjoy the fact we're bidding for a top target for 5 minutes before the chip pissers come in.

Bloody hell.
