Ornstein is super respected, and Newcastle fans have only turned him on this summer because everything he's posted about the club has been negative. That's not his fault. Quote At which club Sesko stood to earn more is a point of contention. The Slovenia international’s wages are said to sit within Manchester United’s existing structure. Sources at Old Trafford claim he is not earning more than he was offered by Newcastle. This is contested at St James’ Park, with people familiar with the matter either claiming that their offer was equal to or significantly lower than that on offer in Manchester. Others contend that Newcastle’s wage structure did not allow them to offer much more than £200,000-per-week, inclusive of bonuses. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6542893/2025/08/09/benjamin-sesko-manchester-united-transfer-newcastle/?source=twitteruk

Schecter
It does state in the article that the info regarding wages was briefed by Man United so we all know it’s bollocks that he was offered more by us. Reading between the lines it seems there was more clarity and vision from Man United than from us so it’s understandable, on top of the obvious reasons, he chose Man United. Club record signing is likely to be highest earner tbf. I was never convinced the Sesko deal would be done because of the agent. Same thing happened to Arsenal and they moved on. Loki679
Bullet dodged for me. Agent seems like a complete bellend and I'm not 100% convinced he's as top class as the fee suggests. Reckon they wanted Man Utd all along and were using us to smoke out the deal from the beginning. midds
Seems like he's joined them for the club they used to be rather than the club they currently are but that's totally his prerogative tbh. And if that's the way his mind works then I'm glad he's not here. I also get the impression he and his agent are going to be hard work and become a bit of a drama-magnet at the end of every season if its not going perfectly for the pair of them. Geogaddi
Have no problem with the lad picking Man United to be fair , as much as they are a mess now they are never going to have to contend with PSR in the same way we do. Realistically they are only ever one good transfer window away from challenging the top 6 again. It's so easy for them to do. We are basically reliant on Eddie turning water into wine every season to keep us in the top 6, it's a huge difference.
