Really surprised that we are bothering to ship him out to South Korea for a few days but its nice that we want him integrated to the group quickly.

If he where to stay at home, he'd miss about 5/6 days of pre-season (depending on when we fly back), plus a friendly in which he'd likely feature in, which is quite a lot of time when the season starts in 2 and a half weeks, so it makes sense to send him out. Plus, like you said, if he was to just be milling about at Benton for them days, it'd probably make him feel likes not not actually part of the squad

Downie has said Ramsdale flying into Newcastle.

Ryder got him travelling to South Korea.

One of them is hilariously way off it

Or Keith Downie has been told hes flying for his medical and assumed Newcastle. A mistaken presumption perhaps but its the presumption I had.

I think he’s a good signing - think Pope will start at Villa or him? With the World Cup coming up, both will need to be on their game to have a chance of getting into the squad

Could he be flying to Korea from Newcastle?

Would seem unnecessary, unless there’s a stuff for him to do up here first?

£4m loan fee with an option is good business.

I assume the remaining fee would be £8m or £12m which isn’t crazy either.

We weren't happy with that type of bill for attempting to borrowing the plonker from man ure, why is this good business, fee why.

Because Ramsdale is a good player and whatever loan fee is likely to come off the top of a transfer fee in the long run?

I don't really like the signing tbh.

But can't argue with the fee, and the option to buy.  That is a lot cheaper than expected.

Was it just two years ago that sums of £40 million was banded around for him.

This has actually got me hyped to see how having a competent medium/long range kicker can improve our game

Say what you will about the keepers we have looked at (and ultimately ended up with), but you can see the thinking behind us needing a keeper with this sort of range of passing. If he can reliably hit the runs of Gordon and Elanga like this then it's going to have a pretty big impact on being able to break teams down.
