Not convinced at all with this lad, he's not really got standout qualities at either attacking or defending and while he does work hard he's hardly influencing games, for about 25 minutes in the second half we had a huge gap in our midfield and they were running at will at our defenders and he was nowhere to be seen.

Think if he’s does more good defensive work he’ll find his place in the team, with the ball as well.

Really needs to pick up his man when a midfielder drifts late into the box. Happened again today.

Today was his best game but he's behind Miley , Big Joe and Willock for me. He doesn't make glaring errors but apart from decent passing on the half turn he's not affecting games

Ramsey did ok yesterday. Nowt flash but ok. If you want to know why there was a huge gap in midfield then look no further than Bruno. The game yesterday was far too fast for Bruno. The game passed him by. Yes I know that I will get "pelters" on here because he's bullet proof.

I agree in part with this bit. Noticed he was regularly too slow to get to the ball, the man etc. He wisely didn’t try and take his man on too much, either. Their midfield are all athletic as fuck and it just highlighted how slow he is.

I thought the midfield was a problem collectively yesterday. Tonali’s passing was atrocious. Bruno got caught upfield too often and Ramsey had long spells doing fuck all.

I do think a fully fit and firing Joelinton would have helped. Especially second half.

Completely disagree, he’s very good technically. He can take the ball in tight situations under pressure and find a yard very easily because of his technique, he can carry the ball better than almost anyone else in the side and we’ll see it loads before the season ends

He was ok yesterday but as the advanced midfielder we need output from him. Ie goals and assists. Basically we need more from him however it's early days and he's getting some match fitness  I do like he does have a habit of drifting into dangerous areas undetected.

He’s been fit for three months.

Try again.

He came back in mid-October.

And no player returns from a 43 day injury and is straight back into match fitness.

So he didn’t train before he played again? He wasn’t running for a bit before he played a game?

The amount of excuses for these guys who have been rubbish is unbelievable.

Does it not say he’s athletically with elite midfielders now?

Read boy.

"The challenge for JJ has been, since his injury at Leeds where he twisted his ankle, he had momentum then and had to start all over again. I think he's just returning to his very best levels.

Can't believe I'm actually having to explain what "match fitness" means to someone on a football forum, but this is where we find ourselves.

A player might be medically fit (not injured) but not match-fit if they haven’t played enough competitive minutes recently—for example, after an injury, illness, or long break.
