He's 25 this year like. I thought that's the age strikers stop improving?

I think the other PL clubs are hesitant to sell to us for competitive reasons and we're hesitant to pay the PL tax and the competition tax that comes with dealing with other PL clubs, generally. We seem to have had the scouting infrastructure a few years ago to find players with high ceilings and bring them in from the continent, I don't understand why that went away. Was it entirely Ashworth? If so then we need to find another Ashworth type to sit in that role.

Striker improve until their physical attributes start to regress.  Depends on the player but at the earliest 30 is normally the prime.

Since the takeover we've consistently bought a mix of both domestic and overseas players

 

And if you believe "Twatter links" we've also gone after a mix of domestic and overseas players this summer

 

This theory that we only scout and attempt to buy PL proven just isn't true

 

But people on here feel that PL proven is dull and expensive, whereas a lesser known player from an overseas club gives the wannabe scouts on here a stiffy

 

And yes, to answer your question, a top class DoF would be a great asset
